I makes business trips to Japan about 3 to 4 times a year, and usually stop over in Tokyp for a day or two. Does anyone know of any nihonto shops to visit in and around Tokyo that will entertain a buyer of cheaper swords? (~US$5K) My spoken Japanese is also halting, at best, so it would be great if they spoke a little English. Thanks!

Thank you for the full translation, Moriyama-san. I did a check on Google for this group, and they have an office in Okayama city. Never seen any of their origami before, but they sure make it look like NBTHK green papers! There's something about this group also in this Japanese webpage: http://www.geocities.jp/fake_of_okisato/kotetu2.html I think I'll stay away from this one.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any opinion on the authenticity of this NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho origami? The origami was issued in 1975 (Showa 50), but it has a photograph of the nakago, and the line of words on the left of the date says "bijutsu nihonto hozon...", which I don't usually see in other NBTHK origami. The red stamps also say the same characters. Any thoughts?
