    I'm looking for a reference signature that Kawai Hisayuki probably used in the period 1820-1830. It's about the phrase "Joseishi", meaning "Joseishi Hisayuki". If someone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you Jean. The Tsuba is part of a katana mount dating from an old collection. With "not handmade" do you mean she was not forged? I always thought she was older and the nunome was added later. I had the sword with mount over 14 years ago at an NBTHK-EB meeting, and Mr. Hagenbusch showed it to some Tsuba experts, but I can not remember ... I have never seen a similar Tsuba.

    I agree. In my opinion this is Shinshinto. I know only 3 Generations Kaneyasu: Tegai Kaneyasu arround Sue Koto/Keicho, Hidari Mutsu and Migi Mutsu.

    I´m very sure that is not a Migi Mutsu. But that is not the question. I own a sword with "unsafe" signature, which I llike very, very well. But at one point I would ask Mr. Tsuruta: i see a gap in the Hamon (Oshigata) slightly below the Monouchi. I hope this is only a "mistake" when drawing the Oshigata and no Nioigire...

    No antiques with 7% VAT here in Germany, except books, stamps, paintings or graphics! As long as an antique dealer is not a small business here in Germany, he is subject to VAT at 19%. The same applies to the Import: if you buy an antique in Japan or the USA, 19% import VAT is completely out of question. Historical or ethnological significance plays no role here. Unless you bought Excalibur! The customs number 9706 ... is correct, but has not to do with the Import VAT, but with the customs fee. Best,

    Thanks for your answers Guido , Jacques and Carlo Guiseppe. It seems that the Sakuto Gijutsu Happyo Kai was held by the NBTHK. But i have nothing found black of white. If someone found more informations in future, please let me know.

    Omi no Kami Hisamichi (Shodai). His Name was Hori Rokurobei or Rokurohyoe, a younger brother of Hori Kanzaemon. One of his ancestor was Hori Yataro Chikatsune, a paladin of Minamoto Yoritomo.

    Or Tokugawa Nariaki (Mito Rekko) forged swords. Ha was the Mito Han Daimyo and Father of Tokugawa Keiki, the last Shogun. Also his "Sakite" Katsumura Norikatsu a well known Mito Smith.

    Oh, i understand. Thank you Guido for this informations! Swords forging was banned on the 15th August 1945 till 1953 (?), and in 1954 the government allowed to made Japanese swords again. So the Sakuto Gijutsu Happyo Kai was the first event of presentation of newly made swords after 1954 (1955). Is this right? The Shinsaku Meito Ten was a event of the NBTHK. Wich Organisation stands behind the Sakuto Gijutsu Happyo Kai? (@ all, excuse my bad english! )
