  1. I may drive up for the Myrtle show, but cannot set-up a table. I will have 2 tables at the Mega show in Columbia. I'm actually working with the the owner of the show to promote it. He is trying to make it into a huge military antique show, like the Show of Shows in Lousiville, KY. Last year he had quite a few military vehicles parked inside and outside of the convention center. they have a strict rule of no flea-market items like t-shirts, beef jerkey, home improvement, etc. I'm looking forward to that show and hope becomes as large as the S.O.S. I will post information on this show soon, in the show section.
  2. Was good meeting you as well. I would have liked to see the R.S. sword pictured above. I could have popped the mekugi and translated on the spot for you. Give me call or facetime me. I can guide you through it. <-- not hard to do at all. Dan
  3. Show shuts down at 6pm. Give everyone about 45 minutes to 1 hour to freshen-up and meet in the lobby for the cars...say 7pm. Make reservations for 7:30. We should arrive before that time, but better to be early. Wife and I are good with Yama Sushi...especially with it being All You Can Eat.
  4. Sorry, my simple little brain goes to the dirty side when reading that.
  5. @Stephen Last year at this show, I had a beautiful Navy kyugunto (literally museum quality) with a papered koto blade to Uda Kunimune. I had been looking for a nice quality piece like this for about a year prior and had only owned this for about 3 months. I did not plan to sell it so I put (what I thought) was a stupid high price on it. I just laid it on the table and a guy offered me $1000 less than my asking price. I told him I am firm on the price. He said OK and started counting out 100's...I was like oh crap, what did I just do? I sold one of my favorite pieces and may not be able to find another! Lucky for me I was able to find another about 3 months ago, that I actually like even more.
  6. I am only sharing a table with Roger Robershaw since there is not much I'm wanting to sell/trade at this time. I will still probably bring some of my favorites, but keep them in the case under the table. Some things I WILL be bringing for sale or trade is; Navy tanto with leather saya. Basic standard type. Navy 1883 pattern kyugunto parade saber with same' skin saya (in excellent shape) with chrome plated blade in good-very good condition. Navy black leather belt for holding either the tanto or the parade saber. Navy Type 97 wakizashi with brownish sharkskin saya and brass tsuba and brass "rayed" dai-seppa. Nakago signed by sandai Kanesada. Blade is in fair condition but could use a good polish. ^^Just realized I have alot of Navy stuff!^^ I have some Paul Chen replica arrowheads that have been mounted into bamboo shafts with brown/white feathers, if anyone is interested. If no interest, I would rather not transport to protect the feathers. I may bring 2 matchlock pistols...if anyone is interested. Dan
  7. @John C @Ian B3HR2UH looking in the above mentioned F & G, I actually found the round hook in the Army section. Never would’ve thought to look there. Thanks for mentioning it!
  8. Looking in my F & G, the buckle on the one I am asking about is Fig. 70 item (iii) a Junior officer…since it has the silver anchor and sakura. My other one has the all brass version shown as item (v).
  9. I have two Navy belts but one has a hook design that I have never seen before. I usually see the spring loaded clip at the end of the straps, but this one I just got has a type of a loop. The belt is also slightly different with 3 rows of stitching on the outside whereas my other one has the stitching on the inside only. Thoughts?
  10. I'll have one or two in my hands as I walk through. I'll definitely have an 1886 Navy Kyugunto parade saber with same' skin saya, a Navy tanto, and Navy belt. Will probably have a few other items out in the truck, if something prompts me to bring them in.
  11. @montrealfan1986 I have lots of reference material for this type of sword....at this moment, not at my fingertips. We can meet-up at the show this coming Saturday and I can show you everything I have on this type of sword. Dan
  12. I set-up at that show 2 years ago. I was the only one that had any nihonto. I plan on attending though, probably on Saturday. I'm always willing to meet others who have interest in Nihonto.
  13. No one else has commented, but I think it turned out great. If you were to sell this or try explaining something about it, "pictures are worth 1,000 words".
  14. Yeah, it won't be a complete sausage fest.
  15. Did you post this reply in the wrong place?
  16. So far: Myself Nicky, Matt Eric Roger + wife Dan + wife (Ce Ce) Mark and Grey...maybe?
  17. @Brian @Mark I chatted with Mdiddy. He and Eric are willing to join us for dinner on Friday night. Roger and his wife want to come as well. As I posted before, I recommend the Benihana inside the resort. Uber gets expensive going out to other locations, especially with our group of 10+ people.
  18. I noticed, at the bottom of the listing, reserve is set at $14,500!
  19. I will give Matt and Eric a shout about joining us. We had a pretty good time going out in Chicago.
  20. Roger speaks highly of you Brian. You must have paid him well. lol I mentioned going out for dinner on Friday night, and Roger was all for it. I think @Mark is willing to join as well.
  21. @Mark Roger Robertshaw and I chatted last night. He asked if I would split a table with him...again. I can't say no to this guy! He and I will square-up on the table once I arrive on Friday. I just need to arrange a pass for the wife and myself for Friday and Saturday.
  22. Actually, since both are mumei (unsigned) they both have an excellent chance of getting papered. As long as neither has a fatal flaw or show signs of re-tempering, which I do not see. I think the chances of papering are excellent. Happy for you brother!
  23. That is a very nice parade saber!
  24. Website is showing that this set is sold. Did you get it?
