  1. Last stop on the way home is the largest knife store in the world. Smokey Mountain Knife Works in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. They have an antique section with some really nice relics…including Japanese. Wife spotted three Japanese swords, a jitte, and some WWII saki cups. Unfortunately all of here swords were pretty abused.
  2. Wife is going crazy buying stuff to decorate her desk at work. 30mm dummy round for the A-10 warthog smoke grenade pineapple grenade 60mm mortar round 40mm launched grenade Cast steel toy cannon made in WWII I got the oshigata book of Modern Japanese Swordsmiths. Last minute deal as the guy was packing it into a box.
  3. Last day of show. Only keeping the table open for 3 hours then packing up for the 8-9 hour drive home through the mountains. I sold 5 swords and a suit of armor. Wife bought lots of little stuff for herself. I only bought a couple cheap tsubas, and some spare seppa. May pick up a hard to find Slough oshigata book if it is still in here this morning.
  4. Anyone need a Vampire killing kit? Complete with Bible, holy water, silver cross and silver round balls for the black powder pistol.
  5. How about a 16” battleship projectile and powder loads” Guy in the jacket was a gunner on a battleship during the Gulf war in the early 1990’s.
  6. More pics! Sold the armor and a jitte this morning.
  7. I didn’t take pics of the mei. Seller is a reputable guy and he admits probability of gimei is 99%. There is a 1/4” ware right in the nioi guchi about 3” back from the yokote. That ruined it for me.
  8. Found a beautiful katana with what I believe to be a gimei Gassan Sadakatsu signature. Buy the blade not the signature, I know. For me, it’s hard to spend $3900 on a beautiful blade and koshirae, knowing it’s gimei.
  9. I have the ONLY type 97 Kai Gunto in the entire two shows. I have not seen any type 94’s and no naval kyugunto with real nihonto. Have found a few naval kyugunto with parade sabers. Sales have been great for me so far.
  10. Some pics of National Gun Day where I am setting up. Sold three swords yesterday so table is a little light, before the show even starts.
  11. Just about packed-up and hitting the road for Louisville, Kentucky. Please stop by and say hello if you see me set-up. I will have samurai Bob sitting on the table waiting to say hello. i will post pics of the Show of Shows and the National Gun Day in this thread.
  12. With the pics provided, I would NOT have gone that high. Was not meant to be for you. That means there is another better deal waiting to come your way. Wishing you the best. Dan
  13. I would agree with John. I was about to post but he beat me to it.
  14. I think your use of "swollen breech" can also be described as larger barrel diameter or greater wall thickness near the breech, tapering towards the muzzle. Correct?
  15. The belt and tassel are both correct for company grade officer. The gold elongated ball is correct too, but used more in parades. The black acorn ball was used in the field.
  16. I was wondering the same thing.
