  1. Gimei? No problem. Fittings of the poorest kind? "Modest but average". Age or quality of a blade? Who cares? It's probably Japanese and therefore a little piece of art. Let's reduce NMB to the question: Is it of Japanese origin or not? We can take things easy again and play the game like most of the Meiji boys did. No more painstaking research, no more disappointing answers. It looks Japanese from a distance? Great! Any more questions? reinhard Please enlight me with "most of the Meiji boys did", everything else is cristal clear...

  22. Hello everybody! My name is John Amon and lives in Sweden with my family and runs my own company. I've been practicing kendo and iai for many years now and for the last three years I took a new path and started to collect Nihonto and study them. I have been at this forum almost a year now and though I havent't post much I have learnt so much more, thank you all for that. This is a very friendly place and a great forum so thanks Brian and all of you that makes this interesting. Best regards // John Amon
  23. Hello! I'm 110 % sure that the blade is a Paul Chen. I got a couple that I'm training with and they all have the same look on the nakago. It's a modern reproduction for example cutting exercise. Best regards, John Amon
