Thank you very much for your offer to help in dissembling my sword. Unfortunately I am in Southwestern Pennsylvania and it would be a long drive to New Jersey. I will attempt to remove the hilt and will post pictures when I have them.

Thank you for the information. I may seek some assistance in removing the hilt as I am inexperienced regarding these swords and do not want to damage it.
A relative brought this sword back from WWII. It's unusual in that it has a small knife built into the scabbard.
I have tried to research it but have been unable to find out much about it. Can anyone help to identify this sword?
