DoTanuki yokai

Ive got the blade from Japan and i think nobody there used WD40 on it. Here another picture with other light. EDIT: I forgot to say that they are only on one side of the blade.

Ohh wow thanks, i thought i saw everything on usagiya more then twice but i couldn't remember that pics of tobiyaki :D I think i expected every tobiyaki to look more like the typical on hitatsura blades.

Thanks for the replies so far. I checked the spots under the magnification glass and it looks like crystals, tobiyaki. I just never saw them in such unregular shape i think Can someone provide some more examples ?

Hi today i have got a wakizashi with white spots on it and im not sure what to think of it ? accidentally tobiyaki ? removed rust spots ? something to do with beeing tired ? And some extra pictures tell me what u think of it Two piece habaki

OK i have only checked the pictures on aoi of the tanto and i like the horimono, im always thinking about how it was when it was carved not its actuall state :/ Also the koshirae is nice, if i would have the money i would buy it. (if i would looking for Tanto) And what is with that flower ? :D

The Blade is still up on ebay and maybe i want to buy it. But i have some points i dont think the seller would help me that are curious. The thing with the mekugiana should be over with EDO kanenobu. I would like to buy a solid study piece from edo times but i think this one could be gimei. But the Kanji look very different and more space between them. Also the nakago-jiri is another but this could be because of the nakago adjustment mentioned earlier. Last point is the difference in the Sanbon sugi hamon and the boshi. I would be happy for every Opinion on this blade or more pics for comparison thanks.

Both is possible. But they are not in some kind of universial fit.

Just wanna post an update I added some stripes and tried to gold foil it but i think that will need some little fixes after i got more gold :D (maybe i will get some real 0,02mm foil instead of the leaf gold in 24karat) Also i made some more Pictures of the blade i want to share.

Hi, i spend my Free time the last week to Craft a habaki for the Blade. I finished the fitting and just wanna share some pics if thats ok ofc i only used traditional tools. (if modern files are traditional :D) I used a zink-silver alloy for the welding and had to do it twice after the first one Opend while fitting. As u can see its a copper Habaki but if im happy with the final result i will gold foil it. The last step will be the Polish and maybe adding some classic Habaki pattern. Im not doing anything like that professional and everything i know i learend in books and the Internet and some youtube videos, so i hope its ok and i dont break any rule of nihonto collecting ?

yea ok, i have read now every thread about komonji but the mate who bought it for me got it on ebay from someone like komonji or another account i found him yesterday on ebay "w12w2" or something. (found him in the komonji threads not sure someone said it is another account of komonji). In the threads i found no 100% prove of where they really come from ? Ok some other questions i have for my Nihonto progress, the hamon and the activitys and hada are real ?

Hi, i got that shobu zukuri Katana that i bought only for the shobu zukuri style. When i recieved the Katana i had no informations about it and after i was checking it i translate the mei "Yasunori". After i did some google research i found out many things about yasukuni-to and Yasunori. Now im not sure what to think. Nagasa: 71cm Nakago: 24cm Moto haba: 3,26cm Moto gasane: 0.82cm saki gasane: 0,6cm Sori: 1,5cm I have only my phone to take photos, i hope thats ok and you guys can help me

thanks, and my question is Is my blade real and authentic and whats up with that mai ? Is it really a yasunori that`s singed under the mekugi-ana ? but maybe a own thread will be better right ?
