  1. The Kajiyama Yasutoku tanto is a fake one
  2. Yes but might be gimei (fake/copied signature) During World War II, many soldiers used their "family blade" (older than WWII blade) to go to war with gunto mounts or civilian mounts. But the tachi koshirae of you is not a none of any gunto mount. So it just might be a blade that was preserved with a meiji tachi koshirae

  11. I think I found what I was looking for. This katana by Kotani Yasunori, in October 1935 is recorded as his third blade he made at the Yasukuni Shrine— according Kotani's daughter the first went to the Shōwa Emperor, the second to the Imperial Household. It was owned by Kudo Haruto, chairman of the Yasuki Steel Company and one of the founders of the Nihontō Tanren Kai. In the 1990s, it was polished by Okisato Fujishiro, and Yasunori himself added a saya-gaki to the blade. It was later exhibited at the 60th anniversary Yasukuni exhibition and comes with extensive documentation and a 1997 NTHK paper. The seller has all the papers including all exchanged letters from Kotani San and the togishi. Nice story! Link : https://www.nihontocraft.com/Kotani_Yasunori_Tachi.html?
  12. Hi Julien, Can I ask how you did estimate this fake Yasunobu as a real one ? 6k€ for a chinese fake ? https://www.catawiki.com/fr/l/95650532-katana-gendaito-handachi-yasunobu-334k8-showa-16e-1941-tokyo-japon Im not trying to be rude just asking.
  13. This is a blade from Kotani Yasunori, signed Takenori for the blades he smithed out of the yasukuni shrine. Showa 15 = 1940 (december) 1000$ is really nice for this blade. Would of course need a full polish but I think it would be a great investment If you don't want to keep im sure people will make you offers !
  14. Showa 13, 12th month. december 1938 It looks very good to me. Maybe you can share better photos of the blade ?
