  1. Okay I done did it now. Bought a second one. Another ebay sword, it has its issues, but appears to be in decent condition. It does have a scar near the tip, is signed but not papered. Remember I just want old wall hangers/convo pieces that look decent to the uniformed ( like me ) Not really worried about value, as I wanted one with koshirae. And this has a nicer tsuba, But feel free to tell me if I got screwed. Who can give me a little more info? I am looking for books now, but sense I am not buying another, unless I sell which is not the plan. I won't be asking again. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-NIHONTO-Japanese-KATANA-SWORD-LONG-WAKIZASHI-TADAYUKI-%E5%BF%A0%E8%A1%8C-w-KOSHIRAE-NR/254289940975?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Thanks Scott
  2. I am not worried about the flaws. Its going to be a display/conversation piece. I might look for one with full furniture, but not going to collect. Thanks for the info Scott
  3. Cool thanks for the info. Makes me feel better. I was able to match, I think two of the symbols. But the middle one was similar to the symbol shown on a thread in the militaria section on here for a ww2 Smith. The symbol was different and I could not find it on another site. Thanks Scott
  4. Okay I just bought a waki off of Ebay from Japan. I probably got ripped off, the seller claims it's edo period. From my reading here it maybe a WW2 blade. Based on the sig on the blade. Its going to be a wall hanger no matter what, but I do hope its not a WW2 blade as I want one with a little more age than that. Also I might be able to cancel the purchase as, as we know it takes time to get it approved for export from Japan. please see the ebay auction for pics. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-NIHONTO-Japanese-KATANA-SWORD-WAKIZASHI-KANENOBU-signed-SHIRASAYA-NR-/254287397301?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=%252FlfydQZ%252Fg311M3w6pgngAdlUWP4%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc Thanks Scott
  5. Hello, My name is Scott. Obviously I am new here. I have always been interested in Japanese swords, I have watched many Videos, esp the one that was shot in modern times of a sword being made by the old methods. I just bough a waki from Japan. Probably got ripped off, but it will be a wall hanger. It is signed, but from what I read it maybe a WW2 sword. off to post it in the translation section. Scott
