hello guys a local collector has offered a sword for sale. I am unsure of the signature as far as what it reads can anyone help me with a translation please? I will try to get better pictures from the seller if need be

Cool stuff. I just grabbed up two veteran bringback lots . one of 5 katana and then two more... I love the history on them. I was wondering about the fake blade but now that i think of it was obviously a wartime souvenir of sorts and makes sense... Swoop up the veteran bringback hordes and sort out the details later ???? ????

Maybe have another pole made? I would leave it. A soldier who probably fought the Japanese or maybe raided a dojo or home lol, or bought it as a gift and the only way to get it home was to sacrifice the wood...either way its history.. It being made was history... And the war was too so it tells a story and that in itself is pretty cool ????

I would just say paper it and you will have your definitive answer. Five different guys will give you five hundred different answers here...some may say its bad but given the opportunity they would buy it if it was infront of them on a whim, gamble or shot in the dark. Some may even say its gimei but then tell you they are not an authority on this matter and it should go to shinsa... So their two cents is worthless ????. Either way i wish ya luck. If it was infront of me i would have bought it...

Out of nowhere seller sent me a message asking where I lived. Then he asked if I had any guns for trade. After that he fell off the face of the Earth again. Probably looking for someone else's Goods weighing his options not sure seems weird.

Guys thanks again for the response. I can take this no further as the seller is now unresponsive... I could not even get a timely response from him. Took him two months to get back to my initial email, and now the same thing.... I did tell him about the fake katana sword and his response was not too kind.... Now he will not reply. He basically wanted to know what i would pay for the swords and then when i told him about the gimei signature and bad sword he just dropped off.... Seems he may be looking for a novice collector to make the leap and buy the swords... He will probably email me in a month after some failed attempts to scam someone else... Guy seems shifty... Bad vibes...

Guys thank you for all the information, I will be holding off on this one as the seller seems pretty Shifty. I cannot get any more pictures or response out of the guy, something is off....

Reeder the same thing happened to me he didn't respond to me for about a month maybe two seems like he had me on the back burner for somebody else. Some of the swords looked kind of weird also thought I saw them for sale in different states. Didn't want to get into the katana swords yet I figured I would try to see what was up with this one first

I have suspected something was off as seller seemed off and wouldn't get back to me .

Sorry guys did not mean to post it in the military sword section. I can get measurements and stuff later wondering what a general ballpark value for something like this might be?

A guy has offered me a few blades and this was in the lot. Would this be a Japanese naginata? Looks pretty old, guy said they are veteran bringbacks from a family member. Any thoughts?
