Black or gray fabric with minimum reflection You also need a dark room - I always shoot after dark

I'm not a professional photographer, but I enjoy photographing blades In my opinion - without a tripod, a camera that allows full manual focus, it will be very difficult to take a good photo of the blade The remote control is also beneficial for preventing camera shake when you press the shutter button I have several lenses, but I definitely get the best results with Macro lenses Well - and finally - without the sensitive use of Photoshop it is also almost impossible Just my opinion
  4. For books with photos of the best (as a plus the price is very affordable) I would go to the two volume publication Showa Dai Meito Zufu You can buy it in Japan for 10-15k Yen https://buyee.jp/item/search/query/昭和大名刀図譜?translationType=1 The book contains 313 blades mostly Kokuho/ JuBun and JuBi and was created in Showa (hence the name) as an effort to create a book that will be on the level of Kyoho Meibutsu Cho But - in order to appreciate an excellent blade in a good photo, knowledge is needed so that one understands what one is looking at

  6. Offer for sale Miyairi school Wakizashi in Shirasaya Mei : Fujiyasu Masahira Era: Gendai Habaki: Double cooper Habaki with gold color Nagasa: 52,2 cm Sori: 0,9 cm Motohaba: 3.2 cm Sakihaba: 2.6 cm Kasane:. 0.7 cm Shirasaya with Sayagaki Masahira is a very important smith. He was one of the top students of Miyairi Akihira/Yukihira - a national living treasure route. Upon Miyairi Sensei unexpected passing, he took on training his son, Miyairi Kei (Nidai Yukihira). Miyairi Kei would go on to a spectacular career and achieved Mukansa in 2000. Although, Fujiyasu Masahira gave up on contest and competitions and therefore will never be Mukansa or higher, he was very successful when he did participate. There is a very interesting write up on him in "The New Generation of Japanese Swordsmiths", that describes his passion for finding his own unique way to forge swords and his reluctance to attempt to simply recreate old blades, which is what he seemed to perceive was the only way to win. Just a really interesting guy and talented smith. An interesting article about the work Fujiyasu Masahira you can be found eg. here https://nihontou.jp/choice03/toukenkobugu/masahira/01-e.html The blade is done in excellent Soshu Den, which the Miyairi group is well known for. As you can see in the Sayagaki, "Fujiyasu Masahira made this sword for Mr. Clinton in 1991". Asked price for this excellent modern Wakizashi is SOLD Price includes transport costs within Europe No customs duties within EU

  10. Yes - when sending the blade to Japan, an import permit is required. But I don't think it has to be a special person Polishing was done by Kenji Mishina and he tells a friend that he has no way to send the blades back to Germany
  11. My friend from Germany has stuck a few blades in Japan that he sent there for a new polish Has anyone had experience with transporting blades from Japan to Germany (or neighboring countries) in recent months? Land transport is not acceptable to my friend Tsuruta-san from AOI sends blades to Europe. However, he has a some special agreement with the carrier and he provides transport only for the blades he sells (which is quite logical) Thanks in advance

  21. The reason is prosaic When you go to sell an item through Catawiki, they require you to fill in the item details And the problem is that you only have the opportunity to choose one of the options offered It is possible to enter your own description, but it is a bit difficult And because most people are a little lazy, they choose some of the predefined options And the result is like this
