  1. Agree 100% mate. Will just calm down and Time will tell. I may have found a man here in my town I can trust. Will PM some of the Aussie here for opinions on his work/reputation first. Thank you all again for your time. Rgds Trev This all reminds me of grandfather's axe.(Its only had 3 handles and 2 heads)
  2. Cheers Bloke. Makes good sence. Rgds Trv
  3. And the lack of file marks under signature? Rgds Trev
  4. Hi Bruce, Is this unusual? Seems good engineering But added degree of difficulty. Rgds Trev
  5. Hi Bruce, Is this unusual? Seems good engineering But added degree of difficulty. Rgds Trev
  6. Probably Gimie, But not yet discredited by Mr Roger Robinshaw. Have a very tight handle situation. Bit nervous about going there again unless prompted. Rgds Trev
  7. Hi Bruce, Roger in England says I need to remove the chalk so he can see the strokes. But I'm reluctant given the trouble We had first time. Maybe I should? Rgds Trev
  8. Thanks Best left alone then. Rgds Trev ps Why no file marks on my tang? Should I start a new thread for this question?
  9. Hi folks, Would it be smart to have our type98 polished and a rewrap for the handle. Or is it best to just preserve it as is.(few light stains on blade/handle wrapped with bandage as advised) Rgds Trevor
  10. Hi everyone, Just realized that the tsuba is the guard,I am talking about the handle. Sorry,on a steep learning curve here. Rgds Trev
  11. Have only removed the Tsuba once and it was very difficult. So am reluctant to attempt it again. But was given some advice which I thought I should share for new owners like myself. Mr Roger Robertshaw advised me to use 1000 small hits rather than a few good ones. Regards Trev
  12. Thanks Mr Gunto, He is a very sensible person and as he has just started work (for just a year, before university) Will be paying back the money,so that will help... I must say that a month ago I knew nothing of these weapons. But think I may be falling under their spell. The more I learn the more I want to know. They are truly magical objects. Rgds Trev
  13. Thanks for that idea, if it's traditional as you say, Will do. An ounce of protection... Rgds Trev
  14. Cheers for that Geraint, Yes I'm very happy with the kind words from you all. To think I only meet the seller to buy two rusty alfa Romeos. Did some research and made what I felt was an honest offer. He told us this sword was surrendered in Rabaul(New guinea) Rgds Trev
  15. It will only be used in very mellow ceremonial situations, but your concern is appreciated. Rgds Trev
