  5. Good Day all, was wondering if this Hisamitsu is considered a Yoroi-dōshi or tanto only? motogasane: .8cm, nagasa:23.2cm. Dwayne R.
  6. Just got back from the JCCC Token Kai and after a handful of sword connoisseurs looked at it they all felt it was a good sword and definitely not a kazu-uchi mono.
  7. I guess you are correct Stephen, it probably is an Uchigatana it does seem to fit that description from what I am learning. I love this website all you guys are super informative and very helpful.
  8. BaZZa, I was thinking that someone must of really cherished it to have put it in a higher end Shirasaya, if they didn't think highly of it, why put that kind of money out?

  13. Thank Nihonto Collector, I definitely will be enjoying for a long time. This is how I have The Wakizashi displayed, it came with both saya's.
  14. Thank you Nihonto collector, i fell in love with it, but it was the price that really drew me in, paid 1100 cnd. just couldn't pass it up. It came with a nice Shira saya and koshirae saya.

  17. Thank You Ray, it is a very beautiful little Tanto, I'm confused as to why they have so little insight in to such a beautiful piece. I was thinking maybe Bizen or Yamashiro, going by other tanto I have seen like this, but I am way down the totem pole in knowledge compared to many of you Nihonto Students.

  22. This is a little Yoshihiro Tanto I have but I can't seem to figure out what tradition it was made in or anything about who this particular Yoshihiro is. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Dwayne R.
  23. Thank you Jacques D., On Feb 20, The Japanese Canadian Cultural Center is holding their Token Kai, so I will bring it there for more insight. Just found out that they have a token kai at a lecture put on by a Japanese trained Swordsmith Pierre Nadeau from Quebec. It was a very good little lecture.
