That goes for me as well Nick, I will have to not just dismiss his merchandise and view it through a different lens.

This is the first time I have heard a name connected with Kimonjo, for several years now I have only heard negative comments about this eBay seller regarding fakes, forgeries and gimei. Maybe I need to reexamine blades being sold there.
-
Do you think he has the same Smith working for him as Komonjo? They seem eerily similar.
-
Looks like he changes his seller name from time to time Ray. One of his clients called him on his Bull in the vendor feedback. Neutral feedback rating this is a well made chinese reproduction blade not Japanese gendai as described Buyer: e***9 Reply by wblwbl12 (25-Jun-18 12:12): please show evidence this is Chinese made, also show better sword at such price Follow-up by e***9 (27-Jul-18 11:22): please show me that it is Japanese gendai. it resold for less money reproduction The Japanese Samurai Sword (#232782561148)

Honjo Masamune On Flebay
O-Midare replied to dominnimod's topic in Auctions and Online Sales or Sellers
He does state that the Honjo is missing and is still a mystery, contradicting his sales pitch....lol His quote. "History of the sword : The Honjo Masamune is a sword that was forged by the renowned Japanese swordsmith, Goro Nyudo Masamune. This sword is one of the most famous swords in Japanese history, and at one point of time, even became one of the country’s national treasures. After the end of the Second World War, however, this renowned sword disappeared, and its whereabouts remains a mystery, even today" -
I found this on eBay, I am very suspicious about this being made in Japan. Could this be another komonjo? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Japanese-Samurai-Sword/233170918806?hash=item364a11dd96:g:qgEAAOSwy6hcjwZ5&redirect=mobile Dwayne

Good Day Neil, I'm relatively new to this so I will take an uneducated stab at this. My guess is a Sengoku era, Mino, Katateuchi I could be very wrong but that's my guess. I am interested to see if I'm right or wrong. Dwayne R.

Beauty, love the activity in this blade.

Thank you Ray and Thank you Arnold, you both have been very helpful. Thank you guys for giving me different ways of seeing the same blade and a new direction of study in things to look at. I love this site. Dwayne R.

Was just checking some swords for sale and came across this. Special feature : Bisyu Osahune Norimitsu was working at Meiou era to Eisyo era in Muromachi period. He didn't make Kazuuchimono(mass productive items). So even if the signature is Bishu mei, the blade is typical regular sword not Kazuuchimono. He made few sword with Zokumyo sword. http://www.sword-auction.jp/ja/content/as17541-脇差:備州長船法光長禄四年二月日1460-wakizashi-bishu-osahune-norimitsuchoroku-4-nen-2-gatsu-hi Dwayne R.

Looks fake to me, but I'm no expert on these. But the tsukamaki looks to be done wrong, it doesn't alternate. Can't really see the blade.

Ajt.Japan Ebay. Be Careful.
O-Midare replied to Logan09's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
You should report him to the eBay police. They will probably give him a strike or something, not sure what they do but I think your assessment of the situation is probably correct. Dwayne R. -
Good day all, I have this old tired tanto which I can't seem to figure out, I was thinking Mino, but not sure, I just can't figure it out. The mei is pretty well unintelligible. Would this be a derivative of Sanbon Sugi, or genome. About the only thing I am sure of is that it is a Muromachi tanto. Thank You for any and all help. Dwayne R.

Thank you Ian, I just found it interesting and didn't really know much about them.

Thank You Ian for your input, much appreciated. Dwayne R

Good Day all, does this kabutowari look legitimate or does it look like a tourist piece? Thank you for your assistance. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Antique-19thC-Japanese-Dragon-Cinnabar-Samurai-Hachiwari-Sword-Defense-Weapon/132973171189?_trksid=p11021.c100851.m5053&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=1&asc=20170803121420&meid=243776d1cd4549cfb38d33ae04cc39e2&pid=100851&rk=3&rkt=4&b=1&sd=352608061466&itm=132973171189&ul_ref=https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e11021.m5053.l9430/7?euid=f8ea1cd0c4e14650b4a46ff66a527d42&bu=43332463097&ut=RU&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ca%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132973171189%3F_trksid%3Dp11021.c100851.m5053%26_trkparms%3Daid%253D222007%2526algo%253DSIM.MBE%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D20170803121420%2526meid%253D243776d1cd4549cfb38d33ae04cc39e2%2526pid%253D100851%2526rk%253D3%2526rkt%253D4%2526b%253D1%2526sd%253D352608061466%2526itm%253D132973171189&sojTags=bu=bu,ut=ut&srcrot=e11021.m5053.l9430&rvr_id=0&rvr_ts=440ca7b31690a9caecc50e8efff52e5e&ul_noapp=true&pageci=d077bf3d-1fde-4a71-9c29-4d37493a5d36&redirect=mobile

Wow, really nice. Beautiful menuki.

I have zero interest in this blade, I was just thinking $750 was awfully steep. I guess you are really paying for the furniture.

Beautiful and slender. Very nice.
