  1. Franco, thank you. Only a phone number... I'll try mailing the website where the info are hosted.
  2. Gentlemen, sorry to revive this old topic but the last time in Japan (until yesterday..) I've been in contact with a friend habakishi and talking to him we incidentally started a chat about mr. Tschernaga. Do anyone have a contact information? I would like to write an email to him. Thank you. PS for Brian (Robinson :D ) I think do you know the man as well... Mr. Koike. Am I wrong?
  3. My bet is Hizen for the sukashi and I agree with Nara for the kinko tsuba.
  4. My 2 cents. All items seems way too waxed, did you waxed those? The first tsuba looks to me very (and I mean very) modern, and nowhere close to the price estimated. The second one seems genuine. The kozuka is cute, but it screams gimei. I agree the crucifix looks to be a late export item.
  5. Uh well ok, you was just throwing in a random opinion; I suppose it is your right to do so Just for info; the tsuba on the OP is inspired to Nishigaki Kanshiro:
  6. I don't get what you mean. Are you saying that all nanban tsuba are cast?
  7. Thank you very much Eric! L
  8. I wonder who that person is... maybe Piers knows
  9. ...and before someone asks... no, I usually don't steal books Edit: I add this that is (was) mine. Olive wood, all assembled with sliding joints.
  10. Eric, I just collect books and pictures stolen from other websites or web shops... So no, the objects aren't mine and hopefully the real owner won't be upset if I posted the pictures L
  11. Not sure as I am in my office now but if I recall correctly the third is in Nagoya while the forth is in the Venice museum
  12. Late on this thread, thanks Piers for opening it. Plus some truly exquisite example on the Tokugawa museum book... Should I find some time to scan the images :D
  13. Thanks Piers. I think in this case Sanmei just mistook the reading of the mei while putting a title on the page (the one you see on the browser). Itsumi is still Henmi, as they wrote on the picture.
  14. Cheers Piers :D The horimono on the tachi is carved by the man?
  15. Hello all and happy new year! I'm back to the forum after a long absence.. and already asking questions :D Can you provide metalwork mei of Henmi Toyo or pictures? Does tsuba made by the man exists? I have some example of signatures on woodwork and lacquer, and some horimono but not signed.. so no signature carved in metal. Thank you in advance.
  16. 平田 for me. Not shodai.
  17. Ugh I thought I was the only one using this
  18. Piers, the link you posted doesn't show any image to me.. can you post the pictures here too please? L
  19. Also (but may be camera fault) I see some golden spots here and there. If there are really golden colour spots in a tsuba like that, it could be made by patinated brass.
  20. Seems to me that traces of sekigane in omote are cast together with the tsuba body.
  21. to me, it works ONLY on my outlook client I've an iphone; how can add the podcast there? If I open the provided link with safari on the Iphone it gives me this error: Server Not Responding We can't get to the feed you requested right now. It may be too slow or unreachable
  22. I've done a brief search this morning typing the title in kanji, and I've found out that the book in the first post belongs to a two volumes set.
  23. Ditto on what Guido says and on Carlo last post. I'm afraid no nyuusen can really add value or "professionalism" to someone job.
  24. Same doubt here.
