  1. Every now and then, some nut goes beserk with a sword somewhere in Australia. As most people already know, Victoria already has a legislation in place. NSW, was considering something similar, but has deffered. The problem is, if someone wants to go beserk, they can always find something. David

  3. Quang. I agree it's silly, But the ones I saw were advertised as him. I have a couple, plus a lot of oshigata. I think it may be done to mumei blades. Nagamistus have risen dramaticaly in price, over the last couple of years. David

  7. A friend of mine has a contemporary piece signed Bizen Yokoyama Suketada. It has old, 1981 NBTHK papers. He is listed in Hawley's, as is Sukeharu. Both are listed around the same: C1868. David

  11. This is purely hearsay. I was told the reason so many " unworthy " swords were going Juyo, was something to do with the NBTHK asking for " Donations " for Juyo submissions. David

  17. What about Francis Boyd in San Francisco. I've seen some of his work and think that it is very good. Also I believe his rates are very reasonable. Check his website David

  19. I have heard that the chairman of theNBTHK has resigned under Govt. pressure, and that all Juyo blades from the last 20 years will have to be resubmitted. Can anyone confirm or deny this. Also, if true what is the whole story David Flynn

  22. Thanks Ricky, it was a pleasure meeting you as well. We saw how busy you were. One more comment, I saw a bloke with three swords for sale that had been pinked. They had showa stamps on them and I was suprised that they were allowed to be submitted. Dave
  23. Hi, went to show and shinsa from Australia. Submitted a good Gendai signed Kanestune which passed with a relatively high point score. A mate from Australia also came with me and submitted four swords and a koshirae. Two swords and the Koshirae passed ( he bought the koshirae at the show ). Although the show was very small I thought there were more bargains there than in SF which we also attended. We were collecting our swords When they had just run out of Pink slips and had to use white. Overall a pleasing experience for both of us. Dave :D
  24. Hi, would anyone have any info on a Gendai smith Kanetsune. The sword I have is signed: Noshu Ju Nin Nishi Mura Kanetsune Kitau Kore. The only listing I could find was in Hawleys which says: Kanetsune 1926. Thanks David
