  1. Steve, your comment to Vajo, is like the pot calling the kettle black. I also vote for Showato.
  2. Brian, it looks like it had a stamp removed.
  3. Check that it doesn't have a Stamp or had one removed.
  4. Hy Dylan, not mass produced. This is a Gendaito, by Kanehisa, who was a good smith.

    Large Tanto ?

    I think it's a Wak,
  6. everything is due for a re-set.
  7. We really need to see the whole Hamon for context. However, a quick guess, Juka Choji.
  8. From what I've noticed is, the Market is soft on everything except top end stuff.
  9. Maybe Itame Nagare.
  10. What you are seeing as Masame, could be Chikei.
  11. Hi Viktor, please turn the photo around and show a more clear photo of the signature.
  12. Neil, methinks you be a bit closed minded over this. The old saying, a little knowledge is dangerous. If you really want to keep this thread alive, much better and more photos are needed. If this was a fairdinkum Masamune, the value would be, way over US$500,000.
  13. What if it's Gimei? Then it wouldn't be worth polishing. Have you googled authenticated Mei of Masamune?
  14. A picture is worth a thousand words.
  15. Hard to read, but looks like, Yoshinaga.
  16. Ray, I think that may be falling on deaf ears. He has been given a lot of good advice, but here we go again.
  17. You're getting better Steve. Definitely a Stainless.
  18. Repro, probably Chinese.
  19. Bruce, it appears to me to be, a Showa Period unsigned Gendaito.

    Tegai?

    Kanbun Shinto.
  21. Lee, it appears to me you're doing pretty much what Steve(Swords), has been doing. I suggest you join the British Token Soc.
  22. Disagree Steve, I believe he had a perfect right to post about the transaction here. I think it's called, "Dicking people around".
  23. Brian, even wartime smiths have Gimei blades. There is enough material on the Web now, to check most blades. Sure, there is not a plethora of Oshigata, but basic oshigata, history and prices are there. One just has to Google. eg. Tadayoshi.
