Hi guys a friend has asked if I can help him translate the date and maker of this sword he is interested in buying l apologise in advance for the poor photos I think the date is 1943 and the second kanji is tomi. Regards Chris H

HI guys trying to translate this sword for a mate and struggling, any assistance is much appreciated i believe the smith is Sada Nori although i carn't find anyone signing this way in my books or online. The other side is in Grass script and i have no clue again many thanks in advance Chris H

Hi Steve life been pretty normal very lucky with the whole covid thing, you guys in Hawaii?. Im leaning to gimei as well, i can not find a matching mei in my reference books but nice to have other opinions as im no expert.

Although i am a total novice i will go with Akasaka, i have seen a very similar one recently on a Japanese site With NBTHK papers as well. The hitsu-anna was also the same shape.

Hi guys just doing some research on a gunto that a mate picked up recently, it has an old blade and is in pretty in rough condition all round. I was looking at the tsuba and noticed that it has four stamps on it, i was wondering if anyone could tell me the meaning of them. many thanks Chris H

Hi Jacques I have some doubt myself seeing that it has the old paper, it was bought from a well known dealer but that means nothing. I have seen similar Mei on line, will need to give it more study. My dad bought this sword, I personally would not have as it's not to my taste although it has a nice koshirae. Cheers Chris H

Hi guys thanks for the kind words it has old tokubetsu kicho paper, we have owned it for about twenty years, bit more expensive to resubmit to shinsa when you live in New Zealand.
