  1. Cheers Bruce, many thanks for that.......I should have known. Chris
  2. This will keep me reading for a while, Many thanks mate. Unfortunately I am going to have to sell off my papered swords as well, Chris
  3. I believe this Katana is also shown in Slough's Oshigata page 56 Chris
  4. My second Shingunto is in war koshirae and in very good condition for age. Once again I would appreciate any comments as to the information that I have posted. I simply wish to have my facts strait prior to offering this Katana for sale. Cheers Chris
  5. Hi all from Canberra Au. I am in a position at my age that I need to sell off my small collection of Swords and Tuba. Unfortunately the family are not interested and I would simply like to sell for the prices that I originally paid, that's another story though. I have two Shingunto one in original war fittings and the other in civilian. I'm posting pictures of the Oshigata and the information that may or may not be correct. I would be very grateful for any information regarding this Katana, as I would like to have my facts correct before offering them for sale. Regards and very best Chris I will post the second Shingunto separately
  6. Thanks mate, yep I don't recognise the piece Chris
  7. My apologies, I seem to have posted this request in the wrong place..... Sorry, it has been that long Chris
  8. I've been away for a while chasing medical assistance as you do at my age. I have quite a nice Tanto that I am planning on selling before it is that time, and my family are not interested, anyway, enough of that. I'm asking for a bit of assistance please in determining the Kanji on the blade which I suspect has been placed there to cover a forging floor Regards and best Chris
  9. Sorry for the tardy reply Richard. My Katana is only inscribed on the one side, exactly as shown in Sloughs book page 65

    Nanako Tsuba

Absolutely beautiful, nice find. Chris O
  11. Thank you all very much for your input, to tell the truth, I hadn't noticed the out of focus picture, and it could well be a photocopy. Steve I really appreciate your summery, many thanks. Regards and best Chris o
  12. G'Day all, a few years back I picked up a rather large Tsuba and included paperwork. I filed the paperwork assuming it was just something prepared by the seller and of no value. Having trouble with the English language let alone Japanese, I'm wondering if the group are able to add some information on the paperwork. Does it mean anything ? All the very best and many thanks Chris O I relocated this request from another page
