  1. No worries about time of delivering. Mine took almost 3 weeks to Italy. But arrived in perfect shape.
  2. No, you should be right and I was a moron in posting that. I just didn't find out how differently act to preserve the signature...
  3. Get it papered. Paper should report the signature.
  4. Tiziano, are you from Italy ? If yes contact me at tsubame1@tin.it. We'll talk via MSN or Google.
  5. "The blade is well preserved and has only minor stains (small and not numerous, a few surface scratches from the saya, no bends, cracks, rust, nicks or serious problems. It can be enjoyed as is." Sorry but... the tip ? Are my eyes tired ?
  6. If anybody is interested in, at page 48 of the Stibbert Museum catalogue auctioned for no-profit reasons here http://forums.swordforum.com/showpost.php?p=917294&postcount=72 there is an example of a joint work by Suishinshi masahide and his son Suikanshi Masahide. AFAIK only another one is reported, in NihonTo Koza vol. V pag. 249, but it's not the same. Images can be posted under request of people interested in an offering to Genise.
  7. Even a new cut in an extremely seasoned wood can result in an "awakening" of the fibers. I've made a bench from a centuries-old roof beam of Quercus Robur removed from a roof that had to be altered. Nothwithstanding it needed several bend-saw blades to be cut into planks and it is repaired by rain under the new patio, untreatened, it clearly showed adjustments after some months. Millimeters, but still there...
  8. I see what you mean, Jean... Is there any chance of heating different then intentional re-tempering ? A fire that affected only the side of the blade exposed to heat, being the other laying on the floor, possibly even a wet one ? On the other hand, seems to me there are two 45 degree lines defining an area with different color between two of omogeneous color... :?
  9. Hi Brian. Please remember that I still have a sake cup for the lottery. Advise me about the matter. Cheers.

  17. Hi all. There is a new interesting item available on Auction in favour of Genise Graham surgery Florence’ Stibbert Museum NihonTo English language catalogue : Full details here : (http://forums.swordforum.com/showthread ... 467&page=3). Thanks for your time.

  24. Damn, sorry for have bothering for such an easy thing. I didn't think to search the kanji and compare them. My fault. Thanks Moriyama-san, you're a sniper as far as translations goes... :D
  25. During a search in my PDF archive (50% of my books already scannerized, i plan to have them finished in no more then one year) I've found this term regarding a type of steel. But I can't find the explanation in details from where it comes from : KANEHIRO TÔTÔMI NO KAMI [KYÔHÔ 1716 HIZEN] SHINTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU He is the son of Yamato no Daijô Kanehiro and is the nidai Kanehiro. The soemei of "FUKUBE TETSUZÔ" shows that it is a type of nanban tetsu. I know Nanban Tetsu, Hyotan Tetsu, Konoha Tetsu but this is new to me. Anybody can help me ? Best,
