Hi、 This is Yurie. I just came back from Japan a few days ago. During this stay, I visited the Sano Museum. In my book "Study of Japanese Sword", photos came from mostly Sano Museum possession and my father's. While I was talking with the head of the museum and the director, we came across the topic of if anybody outside of Japan may be interested in visiting the Sano Museum and holding their swords in hand if we can create an organized one-day trip to the museum. I don't have any concrete plan, but a few possibilities Some time in May or June 2024 Several hours of actually holding their swords and the curator talk. Visit their exhibition and the Japanese garden, possibly lunch there. Each person's cost will be decided later. Or, if any of you can suggest to me what amount is worth coming or willing to pay. I will be the contact. The Sano Museum is about one hour from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train), at Mishima station. From there, take a taxi (about $12~13 or so) to the museum. If anybody plans to visit Japan sometime soon, you can plan around this visit. If I can gather up a reasonable enough number of people, I may seriously discuss it with the museum. I know it may be too difficult to say yes or no with this vague plan, but I just want to feel if anybody is slightly interested in it or not at all interested in it. Hi Toryu 2020, As far as I know, I don't think anybody saw those. I am sorry you got the rejected one. I know one person received a good copy directly from Barnes and Noble. The Alpha is telling me the paper shortage, Corona, and war. That may be a good reason, but I feel bad many people have problems with Alpha. You live in San Francisco. I plan to go to the San Francisco Sword Show this August. If you come to the show, and you still don't get the corrected book by that time, I will exchange with mine at the show. Hi Toryu 2020, Alpha should be selling updated/corrected hardcover now with their website. But something is strange. Are you asking me the question because you ordered one? If so, I am very sorry the problem. You may want to cancel the order with Alpha, instead order through Barnes and Noble. The Alpha is impossible to talk to. I am still not sure what is going on. I ordered one through the Alpha 11 days ago to make sure, but I still don't receive it yet. I also ordered one from Barnes and Noble, I received it(correct one) in 8 days. I don't understand their system. My publishing company, Alpha used Barnes and Noble's print shop. In my case, Barnes and Noble is not my publishing company. Printing is done and selling through Barnes and Noble site and sent me one in time, then the Alpha should have them. Their system is very confusing. I had to buy many books because of a contract between the publisher and I. The Alpha kept delaying sending me those. Sorry, I can not give you a clear answer. Yurie

Finally, hardcover version of "Study of Japanese Swords" is out with Barnes and Noble. I still don't receive the hardcover version from my publishing company, Alpha, but the final version of the hardcover is sold at Barnes and Noble. On Barnes & Noble site, they shows the old version of the front cover but the book is a correct version. Because of the confusion with the publishing company, I bought one hardcover for myself to make sure. They sent me the correct one. The Alpha publishing company used Barnes and Noble print shop. Although, the quality of printing and paper is slightly better with Amazon's softcover, the difference is minimal Thank you very much those who waited long time for the hardcover. I saw a few people already bought the Barnes & Noble hardcover copy. I am sorry they are not the approved version, and off-centered front cover. I just received a notice from Alpha publishing company that because of the Ukraine-Russia war, the approved final hardcover book will be delayed again. I have been writing to the Alpha publishing company to stop selling the hardcover, but they just don't answer. I may have to just leave it alone at this moment. Notice to my readers: I saw Barnes and Noble sell the hardcover version of "Study of Japanese Swords" on their website. But my hardcover version is not done yet. The one on the Barnes and Nobel is the one I rejected last year. I did not know they are selling until somebody mentioned. As you can see on their site, the front cover is off-centered. Contents are the same but paper is not what I specified. Other than off-centered front cover and the paper is slightly thinner, nothing is wrong. But I rejected this version. The book have to be better than that with the price the publishing company's minimum price. I am trying very hard to work with the publishing company but they are taking for ever. Thank you Yurie

Hello Toryo2020. I finally received hardcover books today. They are bad. The design of the front cover & back cover is off. The thin red border(4mm) only shows on one side and they used lesser quality paper for contents of the book. I paid extra for the better paper so that the paper is thick enough to show the photos better. Please let me know how is your hardcover book looks like. I feel really bad if you received the one like I got today. The softcover looks very good. I am sure you saw the softcover at San Francisco. Is your hard cover book looks as good as the one I was selling? Thank you Yurie
