  1. The TLD of ru. should give it away...
  2. Mei + sword potential/condition... Atleast for me, for Showa Nagamitsu the signature is not 100% guaranteed; of course there is much information on this. Which leaves us to the sword. Is there a good condition/potential, arsenal marks, numbers, katakana, koshirae and so on. Generally speaking, most Nagamitsu I have seen are done in a Bizen style.
  3. Knowledge should be shared, learned and understood, and sometimes questioned, well done on both sides!
  4. As an update, both swords are sold. Thank you all, donation to the board upon receipt of funds.
  5. Thanks for clarifying @Bruce Pennington!
  6. Buy one get the NCO for free, lol. It is the Nagoya black Saya one I posted. The sword here shows much promise. I would like to just buy the sword on its own merits, but I respect the owners wishes for a good cause. If sold through here donation to the board as well.
  7. I like Nagamitsu RJT, signature looks legit, same with yasurime, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more photos if possible. @Bruce Pennington can you point out the faint saka stamp?
  8. Thanks Steven. What would a set with this sword and a type 95 NCO go for? Guy wants to sell both as a pair as they were brought back this way. He's asking 1400...
  9. Thanks all!
  10. Agreed shiny is bad!!! This does seem to have a very slight gloss but nothing that could reflect.
  11. I will try to get better photos tonight. The black aluminum handle threw me off. I do think the paint is period, and a real gunto. Are there certain areas I should focus on?
  12. Any advice is most welcome here as this pushes my knowledge... looks legit.
  13. @DoTanuki yokai, thanks was trying to keep it high level.
  14. Not a bad piece, look up kizu and/vs ware, this looks more like ware from time and polish. Hard to tell via photo, first pic and last pic inorder look like loose nice nie maybe well... down the road some handa, nothing a Togishi can not handle. Second looks to be nie exposed by polish. A nice blade.
  15. Hi @Swords, what are your collecting goals, miliaria, before Meji....? I only as ask well I am curious, in addition I have a friend with an WW2 NCO, and a Company grade gunto, carried by officers prior to the release of the Type 94 in 1934 sword, that need a good home. Briefly discussed below. https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/47318-cavalry-with-mon/
  16. @Bugyotsuji Thank you, I believe this is closer? https://irohakamon.c...kagafutatsuhiki.html
  17. The owner wishes to sell this, and give money to the widow who gifted it.. As I have no real expertise in this area what are your opinions on price?
  18. I did say looks like, not is. More photos were needed. In any event, congratulations on your Sword! Also thanks for the good replies, so many yasurimei to learn lol. That's be an intersing file for that yasurime, the deep grooves and spacing.
  19. It looks water quenched, maybe special order. Could use more photos of the hamon, Koshirae, and the tassel.
  20. Sometimes you must grow thick skin, I learned that as I was trolled by someone no longer here or changed names when I started. In addition, to harsh but constructive critism I used for learning where my knowledge lacked, and studied. From the outside lookong in it seems you have taken some advice and done a little study. Nothing wrong with a slow learning curve about a complicated subject. For now I would SITFU, listen and absorb, peak your study from reflecting on questions and/or answers given even criticism; you can also google and find most answers to your questions... which most time lead you to intersting forums here, actual sites like the NBTHK, and some rabbit holes. Congratulations on your sword! Just my advice, otherwise we are
  21. Very nice all the way around, congratulations!
