  1. Thank you again gentlemen. Always trying to learn, whether it sinks in, that’s another story. Best, Chris
  2. Thank you again Mr Singer! Twice this week you’ve assisted me, I am Christoph Mikal on Facebook. Question, and maybe I need to start a new post, is there a good resource to read on determining between traditionally made and non-traditionally made blades around the war? Thanks again- Chris
  3. Hello- Looking at this one on auction and currently in the airport with no resources available. Wondering if someone can assist with the smith and I can research that. Sorry for the bad pics, what I have. Thanks. Best, Chris
  4. Wow that’s a cool me, awesome!
  5. Thank you Robert. The information is much appreciated. Best, Chris
  6. more pics chris
  7. Hi all- Rescued this from an estate auction by me. It came with a WWII Japanese bayonet and a beat up M1902 US Army Officer Sword. I can make out what I think are kanji on the tang’s spine. The rest of the tang has significant rust issues. Looking for advice on how to move forward to improve its condition or figure out what era it is from. Thanks for any help. Best Chris from Wisco
  8. Wow, yeah. I typed what I was reading on the screen, didn’t see that there were a few extra kanji. Thanks
  9. Afternoon all- Trying my hand at translating and I think I got it, but... is it a real mei or a gimei? I think it is ‘Izumi no fujiwara kanesada saku.’ Any help or correction is appreciated! Hoping to make an offer on it. Best, Chris from WI
  10. Thank you Stephen and Matt for the quick response!
  11. Hello all- Found this on a local Auction site and am curious. It ends soon and I don’t want to rush and make bad purchase. Something just seems off about it. Thanks for any feedback. Best, Chris B
  12. Very very cool. Thank you all! I am going to do some research now. Best, Chris
  13. I really appreciate the help. I think from the Facebook post I understand that the sword was shortened by Noboyuki. Is there an original smith’s name?
  14. Raymond, you did translate it but you had asked for clearer photos of one side. I’m not following the year part. Thanks, Chris
