Regen of dauwdruppels... ja... maar die maken geen gaten... 🤷🏻♂️😉

Possibly those are the dots, but what with the 8 holes? Too many for Udenuki-ana I think...

Together with tsuba "Plum and Pine Sukashi" and tsuba "4 Leaves, 8 Holes,..." (see topics) came 1 other small tsuba. Dimensions: 6,27 x 5,05 x 0,44 (septa-dai) / 0,37 (Mimi) cm Weight: 82 grams Sanmai-awase: thin plates of shakudo (?) with a core of copper (for what I can see...) And that's all for today. Enjoy the pictures. 😉

Here it is, as predicted in a prior topic 😃 Dimensions: 7,8O x 7,43 x 0,48 (septa-dai) / 0,46 (mimi). Weight: 97 grams Iron. All information is most welcome 👍🏻

Bought last friday on a flea market... Is the wavy inside of the rim a feature of a specific school? 7,29 x 7,01 x 0,63 cm seppa / 0,58 cm rim 88 grams - iron Any comment is welcome 😉

One of my first tsuba, bought past century... Dimensions: 72,2 x 68,4 x 4,7 mm - Weight: 88 gr - iron For the moment there is a very similar tsuba for sale on Catawiki ( https://www.catawiki.com/en/l/64470241-tsuba-iron-japan-azuchi-momoyama-period-1573-1603 ). They date it as azuchi-momoyama period. As far as this is correct (?), should mine be from that same period?

Dear Geraint, I looked at pictures of "nanako shakudo tsuba" on the internet. Some of them also have a brownish colored seppa-dai. Maybe there is a chemical reaction when the tsuba stays for a very long time between two copper seppa. The nanako just around the seppa-dai on both tsuba also isn't black anymore. I'm looking forward to any "Goto expert" comment. Any idea on the era of those three tsuba?
-
Hey Geraint, Yesterday you asked for the primary material. I'm still pretty sure it's shakudo, but I looked for the differences with shibuichi... and it seems not so obvious... Can you really see 👀 the difference? I'm sure it isn't iron, since a strong magnet didn't react. 🤣 Here is a nakago hole picture of the other tsuba:

Thanks for your reply. I'm almost certain it's shakudo. The nakago hole has some copper colour where it touched the tang. There are no sekigane, so I think these tsuba were only mounted once on a specific daisho. Have you seen the other pictures of this daisho pair in my earlier post "Nanako tsuba"?

I found a signed nanako tsuba on https://collection.maas.museum/object/183052 with very similar design. Same artist or school? Can anyone read these kanji for me? Thanks!

I posted those tsuba under the title "Nanako tsuba", but didn't get any reaction on these... 🥺 Any comment is welcome 😃
