  1. Hey man welcome to NMB! Great to see you over here. Incredible waki, super fine piece! All your recent additions have been excellent swords. As others have said, this sort of sucks you in and does not let go Good luck!
  2. This did not sell on the last listing (I think $2700) and is re-listed. No papers but this does look like a good piece. Not my era or Ishido preference, but have been watching it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/132209011292?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  3. Did a translate of the page, but was poorly translated for sure. Thanks for the post!
  4. If there are any Ishido School swords at the show, please don't buy them so that maybe I can make the winter show in Minnesota
  5. Well there you go. In the future I would ask all sellers (and all I have bought from from NMB have done this) to state in directions a time frame for payment to avoid such issues. Stephen, I SO GET the Paul Harvey reference!
  6. I have run into this issue before (not for swords so far, but other buys) especially in different time zones. My company blocks transaction sites like PayPal etc (and social media sites) from our internet. So if I agree to buy something from someone I usually cannot do it until I get home from work. I do not do financial transactions on a phone, but that's just me. It's standard practice to have an item ON HOLD until and unless an agreement has not been acted upon in a given time frame. If J Reid gave a time to pay by and it was not, then sold item to another buyer, that's fair. If this was not worked out at time of price agreement, buyer does not have a real argument, though I think it sucks. If a time frame was agreed on and buyer was within it, then there is a problem.
  7. I like the Mokko gata tsuba but I can't start buying tsubas too!
  8. That sucks for sure, sorry you did not end up with the tsuba.
  9. Will be out on a boat fishing, but good luck to everyone and hope it goes great!
  10. I don't know much about fittings, but I know what I like when I see it! Nice!
  11. Wow great find! I am NO expert but think kissaki could be saved if the pictures are showing the boshi correct. Maybe re-shape to an ikubi kissaki which I love. Good luck!
  12. All you need is $100 monthly? Seems we can do that easy.
  13. I also have two and backed out of a Mars meteorite purchase opportunity years ago that I regret. As a fellow scientist I like that you appreciate such things Barry!
  14. I am not well versed in a lot of this, but to me the stand out is the health of the sword; Kasane at 0.78cm???? Yes, very few polishes. Maybe even only 2, this last one which is high grade IMO. Only offshoot on tree of smith Yasunaga, who was a student of Yasuhiro 1st gen Ishido School. I am starting to get nervous Ishido School is getting popular because I love the works.
  15. I wonder how many of us have a nihonto AND a meteorite? Strange!
  16. Magnificent! Dimensions are amazing, seen very few polishes I would imagine. I hate bo-hi though so I will pass
  17. I did business with Arizona years ago for 2 Gibeon, Namibia meteorites. Top flight operation. I was surprised when I saw that they now sell nihonto swords. They seem to only carry higher end swords at premium prices.
  18. Thank you Raymond!
  19. Just like poker; I can't remember when my aces won or A-K held, or when 8-8 won a crappy table, but I can tell you the time my ace high full house (I had AA) was beat by 4 sevens (A-7-10-7)
  20. From the great responses in this thread (and I really thank you all, it's great for a newer member to get this kind of feedback) I have summary: 1. Who is Bob H? 2. Bizen school is the go to target (not a question really, universal it seems) 3. The patience many have mastered is amazing Great group here!
  21. Great responses so far. Awesome thread.
