  1. Thank you Marcus! Many of us supported Ford and encouraged his work. He still brings joy to me and to many others who have his work. When I go into my den, I always look at the tsuba Ford made and the one he restored. One of our sword club members studied with Ford and learned to make excellent tsuba and to restore tsuba. Rest in peace, Ford. Your students will carry on your methods and dedication.
  2. Wait for next August and go to the show in San Francisco. Take your blades to the show.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Post requests for information to one sword. After the discussion slows post a second sword.
  4. I often found that if you set a tsuka on a tsuba you get a different view and feeling.

  11. Hi Ron I do not think that the f/k was made by either Omori or Mito smiths.
  12. Yes! Buy books! First sword and first sword book were bought in 1976. Every year I buy more books. In 2023 I bought 5 or 6. I look forward to buying more in 2024.
  13. Google lens gave a pretty good translation.
  14. Sad news indeed. Rich provided and continues to provide a terrific amount of information. R!P...
  15. Norishige was not a Ko Uda smith. He was a Soshu smith who lived in Etchu.
  16. I think that the resolution of the electron microscope will be too high for you to get much relevant information. The most that I use is about 40X magnification and this is just to look at small areas of interest.
  17. Thanks, Peter! I passed the essence of the article on to several friends who practice Tai Chi as it fits so well.
  18. Thank you Bob for providing this wonderful thread. I look forward to seeing your new acquisitions. This thread needs to be pinned as it is a wonderful resource. George and Ford have made great contributions to the thread. The pieces that you have shared with us set a high level for collectors to reach for.
  19. Congrats! Let me know if you get tired of it.
  20. I was going to write lovely but then I saw gorgeous. He is right.
  21. I really enjoyed the Florida Token Kai group. I was a member for years even though I live in Canada. They ran a great sword show in Tampa in February. I enjoyed their publications too. The last time that I saw Troy he was in a wheelchair and attending the show. I miss that group and their show too.
