  1. Thanks Geraint. That's the answer all I need . Best,
  2. It's kanbun shinto by Sesshu tadayuki. With certain angles, the overal hamon looks like 3d; kind of like bumpy clouds along with the entire hamon line. Does this appeared by polishing technic or by intention of sword smith? It makes the sword really beautiful and glamorous on hamon. I don't see this at all from any other few swords I have. This sword also has beautiful ashi & sunaga ashi (almost even-easy- yayasugi-looking pattern for the entire blade) and if thoses tiny details make up this 3d bumpy clouds looking? Sorry for my bad explanation but can anyone sort this out for me? Thanks you. Jason C

  5. Pics are here. Thanks.
  6. I acquired this from ebay years ago and i have enjoyed a lot looking at many activities on the blade as it is. Unfortunately, it has limitation to see things in greater detail due to poor original polishing condition. I like the way it is now but want to know if it's a worth of doing so with this blade. The nakago has been reshaped and the hamachi has been reshaped so fumbari has gone. It has mei on it, I am guessing it's wakasa tsuguhiro either tenmon or 2nd generation but not sure if the mei is even authentic. There is horimono "daikoku ten" and has mukade sinae on the quarter of the blade from munemachi and hamachi. Blade seem tired on one side to me and kasane shows it's been polished out multiple times. If touch up polish is ever existed, is it worth bothering having polish done so I can see the blade more clearly? Or just better leave as is? Thanks for any input. Jason C
  7. Thank you Marius. Would there be a possibility a copy of Saga or aizu shoami?
  8. Few more photos
  9. Hi. I acquired this tsuba a couple years ago. It came with a late koto wakizashi. It shows shoji mei characteristic and the quality of iron & patina looks pretty amazing unlikely to that of later edo copy of kaneie. Pictorial design is very subtle but quite elegant at the same time. Over the past couple year of struggles to find what this tsuba really is, there is no good source to learn about the kaneie tsuba in depth except the article " one way of looking at kaneie" by Takeuchi Fumio, translated by Elliott Long. Can anyone please provide me some good source to study kaneie tsuba and Possibly put some kantei on this tsuba? Thanks Jason C
