  1. Very nice one!
  2. Bruce This is not mine, but is was the only one I ever saw had this marke on Gunto "工"-short verse for "工字鋼" ,means shape of the railway track.Kind of like the C.G.R logo but has a cloud shape thing in the middle. No photo for the tang. Trystan
  3. Neil I think I saw one sword has bamboo wrap scabbard like yours awhile ago, very special!
  4. This one is in the data base already.
  5. All these sword wrote 佩刀(Carried by)not very convinced.
  6. Bruce I found some photos for another Mantetsu had similar signature in style and position,it also papered. It says belongs to General 石原莞爾 Kanji Ishiwara.Seems quite a few these sword with newly registered paper pop up in Japan this year. I think there are goup of Japanese doing this on Mumei blade ,just try to fool collectors.
  7. Neil Can you post some more photos-the whole sword, blade ,tang etc... Thanks
  8. Agree with Bruce, that tank driver holding a Type 95 NCO sword.
  9. Neil You seems have everything!Make me Jealous!
  10. It is for Type 3/Type 44
  11. John Do you have photo of the tang?
  12. Smith is 俊治(Toshiharu)
  13. It could be :以安來鋼淺野兼真作之-Made from Yasugi steel by Asano Kanezane like this one
  14. His kid looks boring And it's BANZI instead of BANSI
  15. 三品義明 Mishina Yoshiaki,Showa sword smith.
  16. Tang says 造兵廠-Arsenal This is 村田刀 Murata To , it has arsenal made blade. http://ohmura-study.net/911.html It also called 造兵刀-Army Arsenal Balde http://ohmura-study.net/206.html I like these sword,It has officer sword looking ,but very easy to take care of the blade since it was made in arsenal like NCO sword.
  17. It's not a 500 years old Koto ,it was made by showa smith 岡田兼定( Okada Kanesada),Showa 19 year(1944) March.
  18. 濃州關住兼時作 no shu seki ju Kanetoki saku
  19. Dave You're right. In China,we call Wuhan Nationalist 偽政府 puppet government, and their Army 偽軍 puppet army, they work with Japanese. There are still some of these Mukden arsenal made 偽軍刀 puppet army sword around in China. But Chinese collectors not really into these sword because of the poor detail&quality, even they're much less compare to the Japanese Gunto. Trystan
  20. Dave Thanks!I was looking for this photo. They should be Wang Jingwei's Wuhan Nationalist government 's army. They imported some German equipment as well, like M35 helmet shon in the photo. Also, that "應”could be 應需(On demand)instead of 應急(emergency). Trystan
  21. Made in Mukden arsenal, for Manchukuo&Wang Jingwei's Wuhan Nationalist government officer.
  22. Didier Maybe it's from one of those"Emergency made"or "Territory made "sword. It doesn't look true Japanese made one to me. Here is some photos from a emergency made sword ,it has"應”(emergency)mark on the balde. The pierced tsuba looks very crude, not exactly same as the one you post ,but kinda close.
