  6. Thanks, Bruce This is one of the factory-reworked Copper 95.Ser# on the blade is 5869/ ホ2023(Army Arsenal Kokura First Factory) it's in Dawson's data.
  7. George Unfortunately, I do not have the detail of that photo. You're right, many of those 女子挺身隊 working in the sword industry. Some of them also working in the arsenal. This photo shows 女子挺身隊 worked in 小倉陸軍造兵廠(福岡)March 1943.Some of the girls in the photo may have died during the US air raid on June 16, 1944. 1944年(昭和19年)6月16日 北九州市がB-29による大空襲を受ける この空襲で倉庫が破壊され、約80人が死亡した。死者の半数は女子挺身隊であった。
  8. The Kanji is rally hard to tell.It also could be KANETAKA (兼隆), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kanetaka” (兼隆), real name Hasebe Bun ́ichi (長谷部聞一), born August 8th 1898, he worked as a guntō smith and died April 1st 1965 Better have other member to check it out. if that's our guy.

  15. 1.氏房 Ujifusa 2.以安來(鋼)造 Use Yasugi steel to make it 3.昭和十四年 Showa 14th Year 1939, looks like there should be more kanji about which month there. 4.桜に昭 = Shō within/inside a cherry blossom inspection mark 5.二十四 24 You need to show the full tang instead of the close-up photo.
  16. It's called surrender tag, the Kanji info matches English.
  17. @hi-revrThe guy on the front row to the right is 土岐亮信 the one who made your sword.

  19. Maybe you can download files from Ohmura's sites? http://ohmura-study.net/957.html http://ohmura-study.net/791.html http://ohmura-study.net/792.html http://ohmura-study.net/793.html
  20. The more I look and compare to the other one more I am towards Steve's opinions, it's legit. These 35xxx are tricky.
  21. Steve Besides the Bohi, the shape of scabbard drag and the quality of scabbard throat is also got my concern for fairly early 30K Series, it should be better made? And the Ser# is a little small in size and has too much space between numbers. Those are just my thoughts, I could be wrong. But if it's a repro, then it's a really good one.
  22. The date is :皇紀二千六百三年仲冬 1943 December 仲冬=中冬(Mid-winter), the second month of winter that year. The 冬至 winter started on November 8th in 1943.
