Actually it is a shinken made in Japan with a Japanese made saya, so I doubt any old saya will fit it unfortunately. I've contacted fred Lohman and randy for now, compare prices etc and take it from there. Thanks for all the advice. Jeremy

Hi Ken I think my saya is bad enough to have it fixed with a samegawa wrap, the longest crack is about 10 inches starting from the koiguchi, and hairline cracks on the other side. I don't feel confident enough doing it myself. The best would be to get a new saya made but that would mean I'd have to send my blade overseas which Im trying to avoid if I can help it. Thanks for the suggestions. Actually my current saya is cracked, and may be salvaged with a samegawa wrap to strengthen and prevent it from cracking further. Would any of these gentlemen do this type of work also? Thanks Jeremy

Just wanted to know if anyone has dealt with Krasimir from Bulgaria. He wants to buy a sword from me and wants to pay with PayPal. After reading some horror stories here with PayPal I've become a bit cautious. Has anyone dealt with him before? If this is in the wrong section feel free to move it wherever it needs to be. Depends what one means by fatal flaw. Normally to me it means a sword that has become rendered useless as a weapon which in this case is definitely not the case, which to me isn't a fatal flaw Jeremy

Thanks! I've emailed Andrew, who's a Japanese trained polisher, he did say it is a swordsmith job to cut the bohi, so I'm waiting to hear if he knows anyone in Japan or elsewhere who can do the job. The blade itself is in tameshigiri polish, far from art polish, if anyone else has suggestions to send my blade to, let me know please. Cheers Jeremy

Hey guys Wanted to know if it is possible to get a bohi cut into an existing blade. Ive been training for years with my heavy shinsakuto, now getting older and having many joint issues, I wanted to lighten the blade. I have a special attachment to this sword, and don't mind spending up to $2000 for this project. Any advice? Cheers Jeremy

I owned a "steel iaito" from swordstore.com back in 2002 and 2003, your sword reminds me of it. Lack of hataraki etc and gunome hamon. Very good for iai and cutting. If it is a nosyudo/swordstore.com sword then the blade will have been forged in China and koshirae from Japan. Cheers Jeremy

Thanks again guys!! I've tried tapping it with the fuchi off on my palm, table etc. No budging. next option is now to get a crochet hook and try get the sucker out. I've had some offers to help my awesome aussie members here if all else fails. Thanks Jeremy

Thanks for all the replies. You guys are great. Unfortunately I think those dental tools are too short. The paper is stuck about 8 inches into the tsuka core, right at the bottom preventing the nakago to fully seat itself into the core. I'll try again for the next few days and may send it to someone to give it a go for me. Cheers Jeremy
