  1. Yes, Ozawa.
  2. Thanks Ray/Peter.
  3. While cleaning some swords, photographed a couple of hot stamps. A Kanehisa and Kanesane.
  4. I think it is Ujifusa, help with full mei would be appreciated.
  5. Thanks Steve M, I am getting better.
  6. I have got noshu seki ju Kanetoshi. Is this correct? No Stamps, no date.
  7. Why am I going back to a 2010 subject? Well picked up a star stamp Endo Tomonari. And as I do, tried to find out as much information as I could. Low and behold, I found this old thread describing a July 1944 example. Unfortunately the photobucket images would not open. I wonder if this is the same sword, or was old Endo prolific in July 1944? George's information was great, so helps with my cataloging.
  8. A few more. The centre example looks like a well formed hand over another.
  9. The Kite was often used on Japanese military medals etc. The civilian tsuba is photographed upside down.
  10. Bruce, I believe it is..
  11. Ok, I admit I get caught up with the variety found in gunto fittings. But I have seen dozens of types of sarute. Even the clasped hand design has so many variations, from just rudimentary fingers, to a full on pre-corona virus hand shake. Here are a few.
  12. Is it Kuniyoshi or as your heading Kuniyioshi?
  13. I am confused, why is there a Koa Isshin in the photos, and no question about it?
  14. No idea, looking for answers.
  15. Has the rare falcon sarute and yellow tzuka wrap.
  16. Hamfish, The originator of the post is asking for help. So there are many experienced collectors that will no doubt have a variety of opinions based on their own experience. I personally have not put forward an opinion, as I feel it needs to be examined in "the hand". And the old adage, never say never. This is one example where the owner knows there is some controversy, but should enjoy it, study it, and in time, with experience, make their own call. I would not hesitate to call out a Chinese fake, and this is not. It has all the elements of components made in WW2, but is at this time an unusual one.
  17. I have put up some photos of my Yoshimichi, with Seki stamp, that many would write off as a fake due to Damascus hada. I can assure everyone they exist.
  18. Dave R, I have a 1942 Yoshimichi (signed, dated) in gunto mounts, that you would swear was Damascus. Big distinct waves of folded mixed metal. Very similar to the Amamahide photo you posted. They do exist.
  19. JP, a long time.
  20. To my eyes, recently painted. If you look at Omura's examples, and the examples in my collection, seppas are not Usually blackened.
  21. Stegel, can't believe we have consecutive numbers! And yes 4131, I think you saw it 4 or 5 years ago, from a deceased veterans estate. Was able to find his service history in New Guinea.
  22. Thanks Piers.
