  1. The sword has been sold so thread can be closed. Many thanks - I will donate to board when i can. Regards Neil
  2. Reduced to * SOLD * Beautiful fittings and healthy blade, ideal for display - all for less than a new iPhone! Thanks for considering, Neil
  3. The pitting makes my heart weep! Strange one this - some images look like this was once a quality traditionally made blade - but for me the nakago raises more questions than it answers! Interested to see what others make of it.
  4. I have shown this one before but now listing for a very reasonable SOLD Very good condition, minor flaws, active hamon. Likely Shinto. Very attractive and skillfully made saya - some wear to saya in sageo area (as might be expected from a sword that has been worn in traditional manner) - noticeable by touch more than sight. Full polish, kozuka, sword bag - all for under a grand! Cutting edge - 51.2cm Sori 9mm Full length in koshirae - 71cm Healthy blade with plenty of life left. Thanks for looking .......
  5. -he three blades have now been sold! Will make a donation to the board when I can (although would also put something in a raffle maybe) Thank you all for the interest. Regards Neil
  6. Hi Stephen and board Not fuchi on saya just painted and gives that appearance. Quite a bit of interest. I did not mention signatures because the nakagos are in such old condition I thought it would cause more complications that worth. However the eagle eyed board members have spotted traces of signatures. All I can tell you is that registration card for the balde with bo-hi is Seki Ju Kanetsugu and for the Waki in shirasaya i make it out to be Osafune Kunimune; again this is from the registration card, no guarantees. Thanks for taking a look. Neil
  7. Hi all, I have three blades for sale following a clear out - all of which are genuine nihonto that are suitable for restoration projects. I haven't gone in depth with measurements etc. so ask if you want these. I don't want to embarrass myself with kantei either so will leave it to the pictures..... To keep it simple I am asking a straight up no negotiating SOLD 2 x blades in shirasaya and one in koshirae. All three out of polish, light rust, forging flaws. Saya needs re-paint. Can do returns within UK but difficult outside because of customs. Thanks for taking a look.
  8. Combine the two surely - would be great to inspect activity using eclipse light!
  9. Putting the signature to one side, it is a very nice blade. But why do so few Americans like to ship to UK?
  10. Firstly, very nice blade. Secondly, photobucket is annoying as hell! And finally - don't stress getting divorced is the best thing that can happen to your sword collection in the long run. Just think there are people out there who are having to ask permission before buying a sword ! MGTOW P,S. Its not right for everybody...... but the other way of doing it is instead of selling maybe you should be buying! Turn the money you do have into a nihonto investment she knows nothing about which you squirrel away rather than losing half the money in the settlement.
  11. Or more accurately made by Kiyondo? However so much on this forum go's over my head I am probably wide of the mark
  12. So...................................... Gimei (?)(!)
  13. I wish there was better images of the blade. My gut instinct is that the blade is gendai - if opinion is that this is the Mino Kanekado of four hundred years ago it should be an interesting auction. As an aside I am currently in huge remorse for not buying the Kanekado tanto on Aoi. recently (huge menuki great lotus tsuba) - if any of you picked it up = fine taste
  14. That one at Nihontoantiques is fantastic - even the nakago alone looks like it would have some stories to tell! There is another one with a very nice write up at ryujin swords.... http://www.ryujinswords.com/konaminohira.htm
  15. Check this out for old meets new.................
