  6. Hi, My two cents. It is a broken naginata which was reshaped and the groove near the shinogi is the rest of the naginata groove (soe-bi).
  7. Hi, I cannot say if this blade is tired or not; but i can say this blade was fiddled, the shinogi is "sinusoidal" the mune line is rounded under the mune machi (the nakago is not in harmony with the blade) and the mune starts iori and ends kaku (if my eyes well opened).
  8. Hi, Yes Patrick, that could be. Stephan, About the jigane, i find (it is just my opinion, not an expert judgement) this one a little bit stretched to be a ko-itame. Concerning the boshi, there are some with hakkikake but it seems they have a kaeri too like this one

  11. Hi, In my opinion, it is a gimei, this mei seems weak and there are many differences in regard of the shoshin mei. More if you look with attention at the kanji "ro" 郎 wich is engraved two times, you will see they are not identical although they are on the genuine mei..

  14. Hi, It seems this blade was over polished, and the nakago was reshaped to remake machi.
  15. Hi, My guess for the mei: EDIT/ Oups, I've not seen you have already translated the signature, however some thing seems wrong to my eyes, the location, on all oshigatas i've seen, the mei is inscribed onto the ura for the katana.
  16. Hi, Somethings do not match on this blade: nakago-jiri (ha-agari kurijiri in bungo takada), jigane (coarse ko-itame) and boshi (maru with a kaeri).

  19. Hi, I don't know who has polished this blade but its is not a good polisher, look at the shinogi on pic called hamon (4th) and at the last one.

    Hi, There were two Kaneaki Takatenjin. The first (Bunmei 1469) come from Mino, He has a superior work (rated jo-saku and wazamono) hamon ko- gunome midare. Style sue-seki. The second (Tenmon 1532) Called Saemonshirô, and he lived in Suruga and was better than the shodai (rated Jo-jo-saku) He worked in pure sue-seki style with a gunome midare togari hamon.     Hi Stephen, Yes, Kanemoto are numerous (more 20) but the oldest is (Akasaka) Kanemoto son of Kanemune. He was active since Bunan (1444) to Meio (1492).
