  1. hmmmm.......we shure of this.......although that might explain why I am haveing trouble translateing it......at fist sight it looked good, but I am no expert......and even though I know I will catch grief, I cleaned the Tang to get a better look at it (monatary value means nothing to me)......the rust though looked appropriate to the age I was told but all in all.....do we have an agreement here that the Tang is gibberish? and I wish I had better quality pictures right now, but the answer is no Jacob
  2. I have come into possession of a sword, and have ben trying despreately to translate the inscriptions on the tang.......the makers signiture I was able to get with no problem......his name is Masatsune of the provence of Bushu (Musashi).......this I found on the tsuba, but the tang seems to be a dateing of some sort, but I am just not catching it, as it does not seem to be of any dateing practice that I am aware about.......and I have to confess that I am not 100% shure it is a date, seeing as I can not seem to translate it........if anyone can help me here I would appriciate it.... what ever is translated, if someone could e-mail it to me so I can file them away when a consesus has ben reached as to the translation..... thank you, Jacob (jakecurda@yahoo.com)
  3. I have come into posession of a blade and I am looking for information on the smith that made it....... the signiture reads Masatsune of Musashi or Bushu...the latter part being the provence of course......... the blade was cited to me to be of the 1800's, but there has also ben indication that it might be a bit older than the late 1800's than we thought it was...... if any one can help me, I would appriciate it........I Have had trouble reading the dateing on the tang of the blade, so I can not give a for-shure date on it...... also forgive my lack of correct Japanese terminology..... thank you
