Hi all. Received the other day. Awataguchi Ikkanshi Tadatsuna Hori Do Saku dated 1702. More than likely gimei but it has a nice horimono, bonji, is civillian mounted and in very good condition with a nice hamon and tight hada. I like it.

Yes on the AOI listing. It mentions late edo so maybe the nakago is supposed to look like this ! The blade is good length, Hizen style, nice suguha hamon, nice hada and sori and a kasane of 7mm. It also comes with shirasaya and koshirae. Is it that bad a sword that it should not be considered at all ? Chris.

Yes. I bought a couple of taxi radios from the UK at about A$260 and ebay added 10% to it. I was in the ebay Australia site. I wonder if I was in the US ebay or UK sites, they would add the 10% ?

Hi all. I had a customer yesterday that got into my car and I happened to be looking at what my wife calls my “sword porn” on my ipad. He spotted what I was looking at and said he has one of those that his father in law bought back from the war along with a bayonet. He said I could have them as theyvwere no use to him. Wow I thought. Hope they are genuine. Well the sword is a civillian wak with same on the saya and a nice rat tsuba. The fuchi kashira are iron with silver inlay, looks like hollyhock. The nakago looks ubu but maybe slightly machi okuri and I can’t see much in the blade, bit of surface rust. Can not identify the bayonet yet. Will post pics soon. Nakago looks old, early shinto late koto maybe. Chris Not in the best condition but hey, it was free.

Hi all. very hard to get photos of it. It runs right accross the face of the blade and follows the hada pattern. In a certain light it stands out and looks a little like sun on frost crystals. Best I can describe it. So ji nie can appear all over the blade as well as the hamon ? thanks for the input.
