I first arrived in Japan in 1987 after graduating from university. I taught English for a few years before joining a video game company based in Tokyo. Since then I have been working in the interactive entertainment business, where I continue to work while also pursuing my interest in Japanese swords. Currently, when I am not involved in the interactive space, I work on translations of sword-related items, including hakogaki and sayagaki.
