Jimi san, the sword and koshirae on your site is fantastic. I really wish I had the budget for it. Warm Regards,

Yes Jeremy, I take great pleasure to sit and look at it all. I work from home and the curio is in my office so I can appreciate everything daily. Warm Regards,
-
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. The curio used to belong to my parents and was recently gifted to me. I need to add some additional lighting for the bottom shelves but I do enjoy it. Warm Regards,

All, I tried this earlier and for some reason all of my pictures were saved as .tiff. I have gotten them converted to .jpg and am ready to try and post them again. In the Office 4.1.1 picture I made the koshirae for the top 2 swords. In the Sword Curio 1.1 the tsuba stands on the top shelf were made by Tobias Knecht from our very own NMB community. (He has also made me some sword stands and is working on a custom sword stand.) Please feel free to respond with pictures from your collection. Warm Regards,

Katana/ wakizashi Clear Acrylic Stand
jesse replied to Lukas K's topic in Assorted Samurai, Japanese Art and Related Items
I also ordered and received the sword stands. They are well made and make the blade stand out with the acrylic uprights. Lukas does a great job. Warm Regards, Jesse -
Well, I don't actually throw them away, I wash them and then use it for my glasses. But if I clean a sword with one then I don't use that one again on a sword. Just me being over cautious with my swords.

Okan, many thanks for posting that video.

I want one, or two. If I could get one with a similar hamon to one in my collection, to display them together. Okan, do you know where you could possible purchase one? Warm Regards, Jesse

I buy my microfiber cloths in bulk. Use them once and throw them away.

I have started a new thread under the General Nihonto Related Discussion.

Jeremy, sorry about the confusion. Yes, Zatoichi was a character (blind masseuse) in a couple of movies and tv shows. Your are correct about the term as 'shikomizue' is the proper identification. Warm Regards, Jesse

Forumites, I have just gotten a decent size curio cabinet and set it up in my office. Here are a few pictures as it is now. I am waiting for some tsuba and sword stands that I purchased from members of the NMB in order to fill the cabinet up with more of my 'stuff'. Warm Regards, Jesse Office 6.jfif

It is in Zatoichi koshirae (cane sword) as the end of the saya shows. But it was probable made as a regular wakizashi. Can you post pictures of the blade? I went to your link, posted above, but only saw a few pictures of the koshirae and the rest were of the tang. Warm Regards, Jesse

Marco, I sure hope that the last four characters of your screen name isn't in reference to your birth year..

Jeremy, The blade was intended and designed as a Zotoichi. It is a very cool blade with a ton of character.

I will pay $150.00 (US). I have received so much valuable information, for free, from this forum that it is only right to give some back.

Nice looking kozuka's. I'm envious.

My family and I used to go to Matsushima every summer for the Obon festival and our summer home was just outside of Shiogama. Fond memories. Warm Regards, Jesse
