The reason I posted here was to attempt to draw attention to what the UK government is doing next to their populations and to try and give any UK members here a 'heads up' on what was coming down the pipe. I won't go into what I believe is happening across the globe now but I am, and have been, planning and preparing the last few years. And no I'm not a prepper, just someone who doesn't want to get caught with my pants around my ankles. Warm Regards, Jesse

Just a quick note here. I own 2 pole swords, one a naginata the other a Jumanji yari, both with shirasaya and koshirae. The naginata came with a tsunagi but the yari did not. The yari's koshirae saya covers the top 2" of the pole which keeps it in place during display. The yari + koshirae is about 11' and the naginata is out 8' tall and both were shipped whole by AOI Japan with no issues. Warm Regards, Jesse

@Chris Sch. I understand what your saying but the language in the bill fits numerous types of swords. Don't go by the headline they use of 'Ninja swords' go by the description that will be used to confiscate it. And from my experience with politicians and these innocuous looking bills, they will be used to take your 'weapons' away, whether sword Art or not. If the government can take away your weapons, they will. Warm Regards, Jesse

I don't know if the group has seen this yet. This was copied from one of my news feeds and wanted to pass it along in case it affects you. If you live in the United Kingdom, your prime minister is coming for your Ninja Swords. Keir Starmer tweeted on Thursday that his government will ban the apparently prevalent weapons “by this summer.” Anyone caught possessing one could face six months in prison. You’re probably wondering what a “ninja sword” even is. According to the British Home Office, the machete-like device is “a fixed bladed article with a blade between 14-24 inches” with “a single straight cutting edge,” “a tanto style point,” or “a reversed tanto style point.” The government also concedes that “there is not a precise historical description of what a ninja sword is,” which could lead to this ban being equally as subjective as U.S.-proposed “red flag” laws. Better quench your ninja fix now while you still can. Warm Regards, Jesse

Has anyone had any interactions with this seller. He currently has the following 'WWII Japanese sword - ULTRA RARE Sakabato reverse edge blade MUSEUM PIECE' for sale. This one time low offer of $1,0000,000 so it could be $1,000,000 or $10,000,000 not quite sure but he is willing to deliver it anywhere in the world after the funds clear. And he does have 100% positive feedback, so there is that. Just wondering if anyone has stumbled upon something so rare as this? Warm Regards, Jesse

Sean, you have a beautiful sword and your price is great and under normal conditions I, or someone else, would have purchased it by now. For me, the fact that the US economy is in such a poor state and getting worse, it makes me feel very uneasy parting with any funds at this time. And I believe it to be the primary reason why it is taking many folks so long to sell swords and other items that are not considered essential. Depending on what happens during the rest of 2024 will either ease many folks' mind or they will continue to 'batten down the hatches' and whether this financial storm. Just wanted you to know that it definitely is not you or your swords fault for not selling quickly. Warm Regards, Jesse

A suggestion: 1st time sword owners and polish
jesse replied to Grey Doffin's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
I agree with Grey and NewB. Getting a sword and rushing to polish it 'can' be a waste of money and time. Steer the individuals to books and have them dive into prior articles and posts on this forum is a better education for all sword enthusiasts. It saddens me that the current culture is far too quick to anger and angsts and I wish people would be a little more diplomatic. Just my 2 cents. Warm Regards, Jesse -

Ray, you certainly deal in very fine swords. I just wish (as I'm sure everyone would) I had the funds to purchase some. Warm Regards, Jesse -
Bert, I see your using the 'E-Swords' website. I have purchased a couple of blades from them and have always been satisfied. Their descriptions of the product were always accurate. Warm Regards,

Polishing/restoring of Arrowheads
jesse replied to Moritsuchi's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
Ed, I have come across those you mention above and while they are unique and beautiful I don't view them in the same lense that I do with Nihonto articles. I try to do my due diligence and only buy them from Japan or from someone I already have a relationship with. With my advancing age I am thinking of selling my Yanone collection and some of my swords and only keeping a few select items but I keep waffling on pulling the trigger. Warm Regards, -
Bruce, thanks for the tag. Warm Regards,

A very nice looking blade and koshirae and I love that compose embedded in the handle. I have one that has a looking glass in the handle, made in the late 1800 - very early 1900s. Warm Regards,

Polishing/restoring of Arrowheads
jesse replied to Moritsuchi's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
Let me know if you want to see pictures of the next smaller size that I have. For me to weigh them would be difficult as I have already mounted them in a raised box display. But they are quite heavy (for an arrowhead). I have wondered what the size of the actual external shaft must have been along with the bow necessary to effectively launch it. Warm Regards, -

Polishing/restoring of Arrowheads
jesse replied to Moritsuchi's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
Florian, I too collect yanone and have a collection of about 25. They vary in size range from 15cm heads on 64cm shafts to 11cm heads and 25cm shafts down to what a normal arrow head is. Please let me know if you find someone willing to polish them and the costs of it. Warm regards,
