  1. Thank you. Declared as Uda Kunimori. Could you give me some info or link to the swordsmith: period rating.
  2. Hi, guys! Could you help me to determine a name of sword smith?
  3. Thank you. I know them. They have nothing for the moment (one expensive nihonto). The inscriptions below the swords mean they are sold.
  4. Thank you. I think you are right!
  5. Hello again, and thank you for helping me! I have one more question about last katana I sent. Could you examine the Hozon certificate and tell me if I right determined the sword smith? Best regards to all
  6. Brian, you are right. We also have forums and knowledgeable people but it did not make a antique market bigger. By the way to look at the first sword was the recommendation of one of guns.ru members and from his participation in the forum activities you really can see its knowledge in the matter. There no problems with collection of antique swords. The only problem is the import. The only way to import the antique weapons for private person is to import it personally with him declaring it and proving that it is really antique with the help of designated by state experts. May be the narrow market can be explained by the lack of demand, such items being considering like a luxury. But 4k for Bizen Osafune without papers and not having a fatal flaws is considered to be a good deal.
  7. Russia (preferably) or Kazakhstan. The regulations are the same. I think you understand me why I did not mentioned it at the beginning
  8. Thank you guys! I appreciate very much your concern. But I not so dumb as it can appear. I read a few books and know all the sites you mentioned. The problem is that is quite impossible to import from abroad swords in my country so I forced to look at what I have in the internal market. I now that the price are twice higher than the normal and offer is very limited. It was not my intention to buy the last sword blindly through internet, I have the possibility to see it and if needed to take expert with me. The sword is signed and have Hozon for blade and tsuba (the both were delivered after 2000). The smith is not very famous, he is listed in Hawley’s (YOS595). The fair price can be around 5000 K (IMHO). In all cases I appreciate very much your advise. May be I will wait for better times or opportunities to buy the sword. Thank you again for you time.
  9. Again asking for your opinion. Last time, I promise. This time there is katana attributed to Gozaemon Yoshinaga with Hozon certificate. Nagasa 71 cm. The price is 8000 USD. What do you think about it?
  10. Thank you all for the replies and advice. I decided not to buy it. The price is 4000 USD. Initially I wanted nihonto muramachi period or earlier in nice koshirae and with shirasaya having Hozon certificate. So I will stand on my initial requirements. But the price for this is 8-10000 USD in our market, not a lot is offered and import is very difficult. Tomorrow I will post the photos of one of this katana for you evaluation if you do not mind and willing to dedicate me some more time. Thank you all again very much. I really appreciate your advice.
  11. Nagasa 59.8 Nakago nagasa 15,3 Overall length 75,2. All in cm
  12. I’m envisaging to buy a katana (longtime dream) and was offered following item. Koto attributed to Bizen Osafune Sukesada end of XV - first third of XVI century. Length- 75,2 Nagasa- 59,8, nakago nagasa - 15,3 sori - 2,1. Koshirae - late Edo. One expert supposes that it can belong to Yosozaemon Sukesada. The question is - does it worth buying for collection? What do you think about its value (not in price terms). Thank you in advance, appreciate all the opinions.
  13. Thank you guys for your help. The seller is incompetent and so now he is trying to find a right certificate. I have doubts if I will continue cooperate with him.
  14. Thank you very much.So I thought about mei. I will contact the buyer to clarify that. May be he accidentaly sent me wrong certificate.
  15. Good morning all! I have been offered nihonto with old NBTHK certificate. Could you help me with translation. Is the certificate real? Does it match the blade? Thank you in advance.
  16. Thank you all for your time and advise. I apologize for bad start. I got your point. No offense was intended. About the price: we are leaving in different countries I can buy it abroad but is very difficult to import it. I hope that in the future I find the way. Best regards Alexander
  17. Thank you guys, you are absolutely right, the idea as it was expressed is really bad. In reality I want to own real nihonto and may be once to try it how it can cut. For tamesigiri I have Hanwei. There are a lot of fakes swords in the market. So could you answer my questions about this two swords. Firstly I'm worried about first sword: what is this default on tosin and how it was certified as precious by NBHTK. Does the second sword is worth being buying and restaured? The price is 3000 US. Do you think is koto?
  18. The idea is to buy a real nihonto to practice iaido and sometimes tamesigiri. Two choices: the first one has all the papers but tosin default (first two photos: before polishing and after). Want to know how serious it is. The second looks like a real koto but little tired. I wonder what it is and could it really be restored. Thank you in advance for all opinions. One more question: menuki are fixed at different levels on sides. Is it normal?
