Some more measurements Nakago 65 mm thick, blade runs to 41 mm thick. Its a small blade: 245mm. Gave the blade some TLC and applied some choji oil on it. Now waiting for a nice stand.

I,m an entry level collector, have 1 Nihonto Waki and 3 Gunto's. I know this isn't a $1000 blade, just want to know the age and some blade teminology. Thats all, my grandma is also dead but I still love her...Thought this was a forum for all Japanese sword collectors, not only for connoisseurs. Thanks...

What do you mean? Its a Gimei? I bought the Wakazashi for my collection, it was cheap. If I have it, I'll take some good pictures of this wakizashi.
