  1. This looks nice and I am dying to buy an authentic, traditionally made blade. But is this for real? And how high is a reasonable price? I'm beyond my depth a bit.
  2. Thanks - gotta love the internet! So is it safe to conclude that it is genuine? Is there a way to tell the date it was made? Is it worth what I paid? Again, I'm not interested in selling anything ... I've got the buying bug instead! I'm finally getting to the point where I can afford to add to my collection. Thanks again, Julie
  3. Thanks again for all of the good info about my sword. I bought a second sword from the same dealer, again about 10 years ago, for $250. Seems like I got a good deal on the first one. Wondering what I got for my money on this one. The numbers on the sword match the numbers on the sheath. It will be great if both these swords (this one and the one I listed under an earlier topic) are genuine as I have since also blown money on a couple of fakes. All input is appreciated. - Julie
  4. I'd say I'm over my head. Guess I better do more research so that I understand the details. But this forum is really helping me a lot - good info. - Julie
  5. Came across this on ebay. What would this be worth? Is it authentic? http://cgi.ebay.com/Japanese-KATANA-Sam ... dZViewItem Thanks, Julie
  6. Thanks again. Maybe this pic will help. Obviously, my close up camera skills could use some improvement. - Julie
  7. Thanks. So its authentic but as a Shin-gunto, according to the link Brian provided, it is not traditionally made (possibly machine made) and poor quality? Do I understand correctly? I paid $300 for it. I'm still glad I have it. Is there anything I should do to polish or protect the blade? Thanks again, Julie
  8. I bought a sword about ten years ago from a gun/knife store in Dayton Ohio. It's in kinda rough shape. I don't want to sell it, but I'd sure like to know what the date is on it and what the signature says, if it's genuine, etc. I'd really appreciate anything anyone could tell me. Would be nice to know I didn't waste my money. I put pictures of it up here: http://www.northarkansas.com/sword.html - Thanks
  9. Anyone know anything about the Ebay seller 3q8?
