  1. Any idea when this weapon was made?
  2. It is a one momne ca 8.5 mm
  3. In my experiance air temparture is of influence , at 25 degrees C it is just as fast as percussion if the tempartures go higher it gets scarry , some times I wondred if I had pulled the trigger at al , if tempartures drop below frezingpoint it is a fraction slower . Paulus .
  4. This was a shot with patch and ball , and I was amaised how fast it was . If you look at the second image of Sai Jo Saku it looks like the slowmatch is making an arch towards the primer . I want to shoot it at the World championships in Hungaria .
  5. It is a short film of my Tanegashima in action . https://vimeo.com/174040946 Never knew it was this fast . Paulus .
  6. Dear Bugyotsuji , It is not the pancover bud the complete pan , the pancover is O.k.. After cleaning the butt end of the barrel I could see two red copper "fillings" , and I can see them over the full lengt were the pan is attached to the barrel . I expected a dove tail bud a dove tail is pointing outwards , these filiings are pointing inwards . I am puzzled . Paul.
  7. After a few times schoting with my TanegashimaI need to put a new pan on my gun. After all of the rust is blown awy I need to restore it . Does any one of you know how the pan , normaly , is attatched to the barrel ? On the side I can see , between the tutchhole and the turningpoint of the pancover , the contour of a pin , and on the side of the breachplug one half of a swallowtale . Paulus.
  8. Here is a picture of my rearsight with the brass ajustment , the shots came of 30 cm low at 50 mtr , so I had to ajust 5,5 mm . I id mot alter the shape of the sight just make it higher . Would this get past amrs control ? Paul
  9. Ian , thanks for the info , I have found one following a link on this board . It is one for a "lattice shape" and this one make sence to me , how ever I have a "channeled shape" as in Mr. Sugawa's book pg 35 . Paul Deen.
  10. On the websight of Japanese weapons .net , under musium there should be some pictures or scetches of original sight ajustment divices . Bud i get only empty places where the pictures should be . Has any one of You pictures or scetches of these divices ? Paul.
  11. I have a question , I have had the bore of my Tanegashima restored , and the man who has done the job told me thad the bore was made out of cast steel. How does this ad up to what is writen on the underside of the barrel namely double wrapped ? This would suggested thad it is made out of strips of steel and cold welded around a steel pin. Paul
