Hi, I've posted this elsewhere, but I thought I would try here as well. These are from a tanto owned by a friend of mine. It was acquired ca.1945 in Japan. I'm afraid I forgot to take any pictures of the blade (doh!), but I recall it was unokubi zukuri. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help identify the mei and possible date it? There is also an piece of paper wrapped around the tsuka under the fuchi with writing on it. I guess this served to create a tight fit, but if anyone knows what it says, I would be interested in knowing. Thanks, Ian
