  1. SOLD (small installment agreement. in the unlikely chance of a term breach, will return here)
  2. on hold pending payment
  3. Bump. offer until june 18th- 5,000USD including shipping and insurance anywhere on the planet. This is pretty much as low as i'll go. I have an offer which i'm reluctant to take due to the nature of the buyer, rather it to go to someone from here or similar circles.
  4. It's not my intention to overprice to settle for "what i actually wanted", but evreyone can see it as they will. Either way, all offers will be entertained.
  5. Well, bickering will bring us nowhere, and since nothing but overall legitimate points were voiced- there is zero reason why this should turn into a squabble. And since i do respect these opinions, The price is reduced to 6,000$ OBO, and i'm willing to make a certain agreement regarding tokubetsu hozon shinsa. As someone who started his way in this field by being scammed by another, the last thing i'd like to do is give someone the same feeling. I know the next owner of this blade will be nothing but pleased- but i would very much like to make sure of that.
  6. "sukesada in muromachi" is a blanket term for smiths anywhere from mass production low quality to national treasures and juyo bunkazai. Please let's not start a full in-depth discussion here, the other forums are for that. As i have mentioned before- If anyone has an offer and wishes to bring up options and discuss further, you'll find i'm very open for opinions and changes. However, this is not the place. Please do trust i have done extensive research and talked to some people who are much more knowledgeable than myself, this is not some random "sukesada" i pulled off a gun show for 1-2K and just felt like bumping the price just because. And once again- price is negotiable, not set in stone.
  7. NBTHK will not state any specific sukesada unless blade is given for TBH shinsa. Not the first time i'm in the same rodeo, and indeed this vagueness is very annoying.
  8. Like i said, i will accept any criticism. Mumei muromachi vary widely in price depending on what they may be and what work they exhibit, i took all options into account when setting the price point. As the opening post states- all offers are welcome if backed by proper reasoning, i won't ignore or go sour on anyone.
  9. Bump. Still relevant. Hope everyone are keeping safe these days. Fortunately i can still send internationally, be advised that shipping times may be longer. (package will still be fully insured of course)
  10. as you can see, it's right near the machi, where the polish (at least the most recent one) ends. Did forget to add in the opening post, the blade is in very healthy condition. i doubt it has seen many polishes over the years
  11. Bump, recent situation put me in some need for cashflow, price reduction to 6500$ OBO. Shipment with UPS/DHL etc. now at now additional cost
  12. It depends on the place and time- this style of hi with tsure-hi is somewhat common for several of the sukesada smiths in meio-eisho (1492-1516 or so), especially with a certain 3 of them. I have seen several more in museums during my travels in Japan. Was actually supposed to land there this morning, thank you coronavirus....
  13. [FORGOT TO ADD IN THE FIRST POST] If someone would like to contact me and can not use a PM for any reason, my email is ofekoik90@gmail.com Thanks ken, i want every aspect of the blade to be visible, and as we know- hamon and utsuri are where we learn about the hardening work, i think it's one of the most important things to show. I do hope the next owner enjoys this blade as much as i did (and still do!)
  14. Up for sale- my personal pride and joy of my collection: Long wakizashi, mumei o-suriage from katateuchi, saki-zori, silver foil habaki in shirasaya and near perfect condition. NBTHK Hozon to osafune sukesada Shze: Nagasa: 52.3cm, 20.6" Motokasane: ~6.7mm Motohaba: ~27.8mm Hamon is a very bright choji in '"kani no tsune", hada is a dense ko-itame, utsuri and some ji-nie appear. Please refer to the pictures. horimono: bo-hi with tsure-hi Polish is in excellent condition, and is executed well. Personal opinion: What is very apparent is that this is no "workshop siukesada", it's one of the earler sukesada smiths. I have a couple of very good opinions pointing to a certain one (two independent sources saying the same), but as those are opinions- please draw your own conclusions, i will answer if asked. Many pictures are attached under several types of lighting, please take a good look. I will take any pictures requested. The blade is in near perfect condition. I can honestly not find anything, but this is not a completely new polish, so i can not say "100% perfect". Guaranteed against any kind of fatal flaws. Requested price: 7000$ OBO Shipped everywhere on the planet with EMS express mail, UPS/DHL available upon request for select destinations. Sword will not be sent to destinations that i can not insure the shipment for. Any offer will be answered, i'll hear any opinion or reasoning, worst that can happen is that i'll say no.
  15. That was exactly the point i was making. Gimei aside, you should buy a blade for the blade, not for the name slapped on it or the paper that comes with it. Unfortunately, in many places the focus of the discussion is names rather than blades.
  16. I think you can point the finger to the mei/paper craze on many groups. they are being discussed more than the actual blades these days. (Yes, i am aware this is dirt cheap either way!)
  17. Hi, is it possible to get a picture of the full appraisal paper?
  18. Working on getting better pictures. I compared it with other type 19s and it looked ok to me, but the guy selling it is kind of shady, so i wanted a more experienced opinion. Thank you very both very much, that was incredibly fast Last question- is this an early 20c type 19 or an actual 1875 kyu gunto? All the examples of 1875 i can find have white same and not a black handle so i think it's a 1920-1940's type 19, but again, zero experience, i'd like to make sure
  19. Hi everyone I was wondering about a gunto recently posted in one of the local boards, seemingly an 1875 kyu gunto, or type 19 dress sword i just have zero knowledge in this field and, and would appreciate any help determining if this is real or fake. Pictures attached Any comment is welcome, thank you.
  20. Confirmed to have been aggressively cleaned. What a pity.
  21. Thanks for the quick reply, i didn't peg this as edo even for a second, the nakago is suspiciously clean- Trying to figure out if someone might have cleaned it right now
  22. A friend recently got a sword from a family, the mei is as you see. Translation assistance would be much appreciated It doesn't look very old, but might have been cleaned. Maybe older shinsaku or very very late shinshinto, i think
  23. Thank you john! much appreciated.
  24. Shingunto type 98 found in someone's storage (surprising, considering where we live...) Would appreciate if anyone can help translating this thanks. Nakago doesn't have any stamps by the way.
  25. Please delete.
