Hello everyone,
with a bit of luck I recently got a gunto, I always loved Japanese katana and well, somehow it fell into my hands now. I disassembled the grip and found a mei on the blade. It seems the mei used to be longer but was cut to fit the gunto grip, so I assume the blade is older and was turned into a gunto during ww2 or earlier. I tried to translate the mei but since I am german and got no idea on Japanese, I failed after some hours with no result. Can someone help me to translate at least the "remaining" part? I tried to photoshop it up so that it is readable on the picture, hope that helps.
Thanks,
Alex
