Rosewood

Hi everyone - I'm musician from the US. A friend of mine is composing a piece titled "Masamune" in honor of the great swordsmith, and we've been unsure of the pronunciation of his name. My knowledge of the Japanese language is unfortunately limited, but I remember reading somewhere that all syllables are always said with equal emphasis... so would it be pronounced mah-sah-moo-nay? Or masah-moonay? mah-sah-moon? -Daniel P.
