  1. Tharris, I am not sure if this is the smith of yours: "Imaizumi Toshimitsu" but his kanji are a little different from you. Perhaps, if there are any missing kanji in your tang that has not showed up clearly
  2. Tharris, I first Kanji is "Ishi" and the second is "Naga". The last three are "Toshimitsu Saku"
  3. Mark, Well....maybe it is too early in the U.S. without coffee or it is too late at night in Japan so the judge might be sleeping while kantei your sword. Like I said before, One of my results was incorrectly stated of the smith name so the era estimates does change with that too. :D I hope it will turn out great for you or you can submitted again in Chicago free of charge..... :D
  4. Mark, What date are you submitted your shinsa? I submitted mine on Friday around 11 A.M.
  5. Hi David, Someone must give Gendaito mumei to do it. However, the consistency of the work Nagamitsu and Emura are very close. So you can easy tell if it made by one of those two smiths. The price of Yasukuni smiths are price are increasing more than average gendaito smiths. It definitely made sense to gimei those in modern days.
  6. Hi David, I spoke with you before. Who would gimei "Ichihara Nagamitsu"? I found that is very odd. I would gimei "Gassan Sadakatsu". I think there are variation of "Nagamitsu" signatures.
  7. Stephen, "hold on" gendaito swords for another 20 years or so.....then it will be Juyo candidate for sure....There are no questions about the mei...since there are no gimei.....  Maybe one day, you can use Gendaito Juyo for cutting tree.....
  8. BullPuppy, I think the attribution to "Bizen Yokoyama Sukesada". You need to write the period down so people in here can narrow down to which smith or generations. Great result! 75 points.
  9. In my white paper, it did not indicate the tang shape like original, shorted or great shorted. The only correction I need is the attribution which the smith name is incorrectly identifited on the white paper. Other than that, then you don't need to correct anything on the white paper.
  10. Like Milt said........it is a remote chance it happened. Due to a large volume of swords submitted, there was a minor mistake in my WHITE paper where the last kanji wrote it wrong. It was corrected after I brought attention to the Shinsa team after I got home and do researched. I don't know if anyone noticed....the White paper did not indicate if the tang is ubu, suriage or o-suriage. RSVP cognac is not for cooking but more likely for drink dude.....  Unless, you are living in a High-high class society where RSVP using for cooking......ahahahahaha
  11. I have read this message in Yahoo forum. Now, it is a good time for those Juyo candidate to be submitted for paper since the deserved Juyo blades are gone. The selections is getting easier since there are not many left to be submitted for gold paper anymore. Hey maybe Hozon paper can be submitted for Juyo paper 10 to 15 years in the future and as well as Gendaito Sai-jo Saku status.
  12. I believe Milt will be a 'copy old man'.... for the Chicago Shinsa 2007. So your guys must feed Milt....XO Cognac...and German beer the night before the Shinsa. So that way.....anyone got pink papers will be ended up with white paper and white paper will be getting pink paper..... By the way, If Gordon reserved a special Pink paper for you Milt.....I rather not to be in the same boat with you in that case  Like Milt said, it is a very surprised to everyone. Normally, it happened every other year NTHK comes to U.S. Too bad Milt, you don't smoke Malboro light....so I can reserved one for you with marginated with RSVP Cognac when you are going to smoke with Gordon's boss.....
  13. Milt, Pink paper is more attractive then a damn white papers..since there are so many pinks papers in the Shinsa room. Paper ball.... There is a Chicago Shinsa next year. I need your help after you have one and one smoke with Gordon's boss. I can submit my gimei for paper...After that I treat you with beer and liquor (Cognac)....to celebrate...
  14. DaveF, Congrats! Milt might have to pushed Big Moses during the Shinsa Lobby for higher points otherwise you might have only 73 points like mine. Yesterday, I found out that I have another blade attributed to Jo Saku smith. Two of mine in very good original polish condition with out rust ans still received ony 73 points. Maybe the Shinsa panel might have some kickback for some members for setting the show....
  15. Yo Milt, You are getting more funnier with a remarks. Anyhow, how are you? I took my 15 months boy to Shinsa....He was enjoying and ready do Kantei for all the swords.....Pinked.....and more pinked papers.....his favorite colors. By accident, he got on hold on my Shinsa results and ready to tear them apart.....or throw on the floor....
  16. Mark G, That is interesting result: Yokohama export market product. Why don't you send the blade to NTHBK for another opinion? Maybe, that might turn out better.
  17. Nice result! Worth getting the gimei removed. BOKUDEN BANDÔTARÔ [ENPÔ 1673 HITACHI] SHINTÔ JÔSAKU He is of the Omura Kaboku Mon, is called Kawamura Chôbei, and in the beginning he signed as MUSASHI NO KAMI YOSHIKADO. In Kanbun Jûnen 1672, he, along with his older brother Echizen no Kami Yoshikado, became swordsmiths exclusively to Mito Yoshimatsu. From around Enpô Yonen (1676) he changed his name to BANDOTARÔ BAKUSHÔ NYÛDÔ BOKUDEN. He passed away on Jôkyô Gonen (Genroku Gannen) Shichigatsu Yôka. Many of the blades he made have a majestic form, hamon is ô-midare, notare midare, nie kuzure. (Ryôwazamono) Peter, Thanks for the info. I already knew it will be a gimei and I was not expected much from it beside the usual attributed to lower end smith. So I was satisfied knowing this blade is not the Sai-Jo smith name at the shinsa without thinking anymore about it. I came home and started reading the pinked paper then I use hawley to find more about it before I dig into Fujishiro. Normally, Hawley contained almost all the smiths and provided not much beyond that.
  18. I do see the gray and blue gray as the background. The reason I asked is that I have troubled taking good pictures for sword. The reflection and the shadow. Plus I use only 150 watts sunlight bulb. I believe I need the 1500 watts light and a large softbox to take better pictures.
  19. Hi Quang that sounds interesting, what was the mei and who did they think it really was? Peter Hi Peter, The gimei is "Echizen no Kami Minamoto Sukehiro". The pinked paper recommended: historically value and worthy preservation. The estimated work of "Zenjo Yoshikado". Province: "Musashi" and period of working: "cir enpo (1673)". Well, I did not read the pinked paper carefully at the time to ask more question since my 15 months child is tired on that day. I just read it again few days ago and check on the Hawley book. I was better than I thought it was.
  20. Hi David, It is my pleasure meeting you and your mate (Adrian)! You can submit anything swords you like but if you can receive a paper is another story. At least it is confirmed to me that Showa stamp swords will failed Shinsa and if the same blade submit again with the stamp remove to receive a paper is a very interesting topic. Ricky, What is your blackground for the photograph? What is the light setting you are using for the Koshirae?
  21. Ricky, Funny, I over heard your phone conversation in Cantonese. I almost got sick on Friday and Saturday as well. So I told family that if Sunday is nice we will head out to China town in N.Y. It is unbelieveable that Sunday is very nice weather. I might be able to see you again in Chicago Shinsa next year.
  22. Ironchief, I did see you there while I received my results. I just did not have the time to talk to anyone that much since my little child and wife were with me. The weather was horrible and a little chill and the child is getting tired for several hours walking around. I submitted 8 and 5 failed. One pinked received a recommendation for removing the gimei since it has attributted to a Jo saku smith instead of Sai-jo saku. The rest of the other were clueless. One pinked of gimei from a gendaito smith to "modern smith" maker with unknown province. Based on my thought is if the signature is matched in Fujishiro books then you have a pretty good chance to papered. Otherwise, it will be pinked. Actually, based on my observation two years ago in Chicago Shinsa. This one has a lot of pink papers. I don't mind to trade my pink papers for a while paper....LOL....
