  1. Hi Brain, I hope the future collector might have hope but the main issue is the job market and money issues for almost everyone. The only way I know it is survive for sword collection if we print to each other an "IOU" with zero interest for a long time.

  7. Chris, Sorry, my brain wasn't working late at night. You are correct. Yasuhiro and Yasutoku are two different smiths. Yasunori is nephew of Yasutoku. Somehow last night, I kept thinking Yasutoku was Yasuhiro until I got my morning coffee. lol. Thank you for your help in the translation of Kanenobu and horimono and Kiyokane. Best regards, Quang
  8. Chris, Thank you for pointing that out. John slough book referenced Miyaguchi Toshihiro as Kajiyama Yasunori. I got the impression they are the same smith. Miyaguchi Toshihiro name was used as outside work from Yasukuni shrine. One more question for you. Is Endo Mitsuoki and Shibata Ka same smith? I went through the search forum and someone mention it is the same smith. It is new to me. Thanks, Quang

  11. I am very appreciated for your help and the others who read kanji. Your website is very nice too. I collected mostly Gendaito swords with military mount. I attracted to those type of swords. I also got one of the smith "Aki Kuni Takano Ju Ishibashi Izumo Daijo Minamoto Masamitsu". You have a kanata on your website and I got the boy sword. Here are one more tanto I like to share with you. "Hideaki" and made in Feb taisho 7 years. I don't know the kanji of the owner.

  16. Hi All, I need help to translate the second kanji in the tang. "Ichi ???? Tsutsui Kiyokane saku". It is a gendaito make in August of 1942.

  18. Adam, yes we are the only two online like Nihonto but offline there are several people I know collected Nihonto who are not familiar with computers. Jim Dawson is also in Atlanta area. You are very good at reading Kanji. I can read the basic one or repeat title or names. Other than that, it will become confusing for me because it can be look like this kanji and that kanji....

  24. Brian, Thank you for a welcome back! I have ran a restaurant business for six years and it breakeven and loss and lost a lot of times with family. It is a long work hours and not even pay....lol.....It became so stressful and burden my family. It is time to move on with old habit and collecting swords. Quang
