  1. I wasn't promoting this item. If I was I would have put it in the right forum.
  2. When you click on the link you should see two albums on the bottom left. There are only two tsubas, one in each album.

    Yoshimichi

Received a email from Gordon Robson on a sword that I sent. He had some questions on the signature but he did say the work look like Yoshimichi. I wish I could take better photos. I like to get some opinions form the board. I have two sets of pictures at this link. The nice pictures are before it was polished and the terrible pictures are mine after the polish. http://www.fototime.com/inv/2DF16EED508A3C2 Gordon Emails From: Gordon Robson [mailto] Sent: Tuesday, December 18, 2007 7:01 PM To: Tim Eastman Subject: RE: Authentication of Signature. Hi Tim, It is very hard to see the hamon, but it does look like Yoshimichi’s sudareba. We don’t presently have a States side shinsa scheduled. Gordon
  5. I got these some time ago along with a purchase of a sword. I was thinking of selling them on ebay and I like to know how I should describe them and a good price. They can be viewed at this link. Keep clicking on the pictures and they will get larger. http://www.fototime.com/inv/AA3C2DB86A36124

  9. I just got my tanto. I was not looking for anything valuable or collectable just something to have polished and that I can set on my desk at work (it helps maintain some disapline). Anyway the seller describes it as follows Here is a tanto blade that is around 400 years old or more. The cutting edge is 7 1/8th inch or 18cm. It is 25mm wide at the notches and 4mm thick. From the shape of the elongated tip it looks like the end of a longer Nambokucho period blade. It is very thick and healthy with no cracks, bends, or serious problems. There are some tiny nail-catcher nicks and some light pitting in the middle of one side. The wavy temperline is visible along both sides of the edge with a tunback around the tip. There are signs of grain, but difficult to make out in this condition. There is a small opening on one side of the tang. The price ended up being $202. Does the seller's discription seem accurate? Not that I would be upset if it was a gunto. The pictures are at http://www.fototime.com/inv/AFCCC7C135723DA Thanks for any feedback.
  10. Mo confirmed that there was no mix ups in the papers.
  11. Results from Chicago Shinsa. It turns out to me a later generation Kanemoto http://www.fototime.com/inv/EF2A44827716497
  12. I posted the paper. Will the real Hidetoshi be known..... http://www.fototime.com/inv/17FDB901F678FB7

  14. I will post the paper when I get it. So Stephen they attributed your blade to the same smith at the same shinsa? So when you found out whom they though it was you decided to take the pink instead. How does my blade compare to yours out of curiosity. My blade is not tired but I would not recommend another polish. This seems very strange...
  15. One of my swords from the Chicago Shinsa was attributed to Hidetoshi. Any information on this maker would be appreiciated. http://www.fototime.com/inv/17FDB901F678FB7
  16. Any ideas who a Showa maker by the name Hidetoshi is?
  17. I just got an email from Mo and my two swords passed. One was a meji period Kanemoto late generation Kanemoto. The other one was attributed to a showa maker hidetoshi. Both received kanteisho at 70points. This is my third sword submitted to a shinsa and so far all have passed. The first one was bought through advice on this board (thanks everyone) and the second two I bought on my own through ebay. The Kanemoto was posted here some time ago and pretty much dismissed as Geimei, gunto etc. I don't think I posted the Koto. I will post the worksheet when I get them. The pictures are at this link I will post the worksheets when I get them. http://www.fototime.com/inv/981B29A88E9800A
  18. I just bought this on Christmas day. I got a tip from a member from the board and it went out at $1913. Just like to get some feed back. The seller discription is with the link. Keep pressing on the pictures and they get larger. http://www.fototime.com/inv/9D4E2B4652AB33C Happy Holiday!!!!!!
  19. My books are not at hand at the moment. The one link I posted is the best price point I could find. I was going to have the wife buy it for me for Christmas but it probaby will go too high now.
  20. Does this look like the signature of the following smith? http://www.japanesesword.com/Images/Swo ... unto2.html To me it looks like different strokes.
  21. I actually got my first characters right.

    Mei removal

One polisher suggestted that you mark the across the mei as a gimei. I am not sure how that would look or how he planned on doing it. Too bad the sword ogranization can't issue a stamp (like a showa stamp) that can be applied and be accepted as a sign of gimei
  23. This is hard stuff. My best guess of the first to is shinano or Shinshu. I have yet to get one right.
  24. Thanks
  25. One more time. Too much egg nog I guess. Pictures are reposted.
