A few pics of tang with furniture. Have a few other swords that members may find interesting. A couple I don't even know the makers. Thanks, Keith

Picked this up a few years back from an auction house. Never really paid attention to signatures on my swords, mainly collected German stuff. I don't use this site much so not sure where to put stuff for show and tell. Would like to know something about the maker and the mount. Notice the gold leaf coming off of the seppa? I don't take this one apart much do to the gold leaf separating. Thanks, Keith

Have a Shin Gunto sword with inscription on both sides. beautiful untouched sword with matching numbers on the tang, tsuba and seppa. Blade is very nice without any damage. Was wondering if someone could verify the maker. I think it says Yoshimasa but I'm not very good at trying to match the signature up with all of the signatures in my books. Also signed on the back. I think it's the date it was made. I added pics of the front and back. Was also wondering if this is a traditional forged blade? Tried to turn the pictures so easier to read and study the signature but couldn't figure out how to turn the pictures, sorry. study Thanks for any help, Keith

Have been collecting for about 25 years. My first sword I purchased was out of Iowa. I paid $650 for it. I sent a check in the mail for it, not knowing what I was really getting. Here is my first sword. No signature. The tang is darker than the picture, it looks black. From what I've been told the signature was cut off when the sword was shortened. The scabbard is nickel plated (I think) and the top was covered by the officer with tape to prevent shine (first pick). Gorgeous blade without any damage. Look at that beautiful tip!! Came from the family of a marine. He picked up the sword while island hopping. I believe he got it While fighting on Guadalcanal. I wanted to get with the family and get some paperwork on the Marine along with his picture to display the sword. I lost their contact information so impossible now. This is a family sword in combat configuration. Blade is 28" I've only shown this sword to one other collector, so this is the first time seen in public.

I keep hearing that the WW2 era sword blades aren't very good and not made traditionally. I'm not an expert but this sword blade doesn't look like a machined blade with etched temper line. Can someone take a look at the blade and tell me if this is a machined blade and tell me a little about the blade? I tried to figure out the signature but just got more confused as I went. The third symbol I think is Kane and the last symbol is Saku (made this) Thanks for any help you can. Regards, Keith

Sorry about the spelling. The Tsuba has a dark patina to it. The shine comes from the flash.

This is my first time posting, I hope the pics come out. I mainly collect WW2 stuff and most of my things are German. I do have several Japanese edged weapons. I added a few pics of one of my stuba. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what the markings say or tell me a little about the stuba? The stuba is 8 cm wide by 3mm thick. Thanks, Keith
